About Birla Institute of Technology & Science Institute –

Higher education is offered throughout all of India at the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, or BITS Pilani. BITS’ main goal is to “teach young people who are able and enthusiastic to develop and implement such ideas, methods, procedures, and information.” The Institute is the realisation of the founder, late Mr. G.D. Birla, an accomplished industrialist, activist for Indian independence, and close friend of the late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi). Beginning as a modest school in the early 1900s, it developed into a collection of schools for higher learning, spanning from the humanities to engineering, until 1964, when all of these institutions merged to form a distinctive Indian University with a strong international reputation. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, or BITS, Pilani, is the name given to this institution of higher learning.

The Pilani Campus is situated in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu District at the Vidya Vihar complex next to Pilani Town. The Birla family’s hometown is Pilani, which has a population of roughly 50,000. It is located about 220 kilometres north of Jaipur and 200 km west of Delhi. The BITS Campus, which covers an area of around 328 acres, is made up of the Institute buildings, hostels, and staff housing, as well as beautifully landscaped roadways, meadows, and gardens. The Ministry of Education of the Government of India has designated Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani as a “Institution of Eminence.” It is the top institution of higher learning in India and a deemed university, with a distinguished history, cutting-edge campuses, and accomplished former students holding top leadership positions around the globe. The Institute’s gradual ascent to distinction has been distinguished by its dedication to excellence, adherence to merit, transparency, innovation, and enterprise. The DST, Government of India, has chosen it as the sole private university to receive a grant of Rs 125 crore to construct a Technology Innovation Hub under the Bio-CPS sector.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science Mission –

The goal of BITS is to expand knowledge and train students in the sciences, technologies, and other scholarly fields that will best serve the country and the rest of the world in the twenty-first century.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science Policy –

The search for perfection necessitates an open and sincere attitude. As one of the few prestigious institutions in India that has a “Merit Only” based admission criteria, BITS Pilani has consistently held this belief.

We have implemented BITSAT, an entirely online exam, to provide complete openness in student admittance for undergraduate courses. The BITSAT measures a student’s aptitude in math, physics, and chemistry. The BITSAT also includes sections on English and logical reasoning, making it a comprehensive evaluation of a candidate’s competence and intelligence.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science Courses –

Four Integrated First Degree courses are offered by BITS Pilani in the fields of Science, Technology, Pharmacy, Management, and Humanities. The BE, BPharm, MSc, and MSc programmes are among these (Tech). BITSAT or national entrance tests are used to administer admission to all Integrated First Degree programmes. However, state/central board toppers are given direct admission. In addition to this, BITS Pilani also provides three higher-level programmes: the ME, MPharm, and MBA. All of these courses last for two years. For admission to ME and MPharm programmes, the Deemed University either administers the BITS Higher Degree Online Test (BITS HD Online Test) in August on a regular basis or accepts GATE/GPAT scores. The university administers the Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) or accepts CAT/ XAT / GMAT scores.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science Library –

Up to 8,000 pupils can fit in the library, which also features 246 open-access IT workstations and 738 open access study spaces. It houses student computing resources in addition to the usual books and periodicals. The library catalogue allows for searches inside the collection. But as a student at BITS Pilani, you will also have access to a network of other libraries.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science Hostel –

The Institute is entirely residential, and all students are given access to dormitories. Eleven hostels are available for boys, and just one is for girls. The dormitory rooms are completely furnished. In every hostel, there are common rooms with cable TV and phones. Every room at the hostel has access to the internet. All of the hostels have solar water heating systems. Every pair of two-boy dorms has a shared kitchen and mess area. The girls’ hostel, on the other hand, has a unique mess that is located inside the hostel’s perimeter. It is a requirement for students staying in the hostel to eat in the mess halls. Messes that are associated with hostels are entirely run by the students.
