About Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SVIMS)
In 2010, the National Kannada Education Society (NKES) founded the Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SVIMS). The institute offers programs that are approved by AICTE and affiliated with the University of Mumbai.
The campus has a state-of-the-art, corporate-style infrastructure, a Wi-Fi campus, and a well-equipped library containing the new national and international journals; EBSCO promotes e-learning as well.
In Dubai, Thailand, South Africa, Istanbul, and Singapore, SVIMS has organized numerous international immersion programs to assist students in developing a global mindset and reinforcing the ties between industry and academia.
SVIMS Courses :
A total of three two-year full-time programs are offered by SVIMS, namely MMS, PGDM standard, and PGDM (Marketing) at the PG level. In four specializations, including HRM, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, regular PGDM is offered.
In collaboration with TimesPro, it also provides a two-year PGDM (Banking and Financial Services) and other certificate programs in collaboration with Edu Pristine in Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, and Financial Modeling.
SVIMS Admission :
Admission is through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) counseling based on the rank or score obtained in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test MAH-CET/ CMAT/ XAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ GMAT.
Admission for MMS :
Qualifying exam: MAH CET/ entrance test approved by DTE/ University of Mumbai
Eligibility: Candidates must have a graduation in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 50%

Application process :
Admission into various courses at SVIMS can be done by filling up the application forms that are available online as well as offline mode. The college changes a minimal amount as the application fee.
Steps for Online application :
- Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling in the mandatory information in the admission tab.
- Fill out the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of the required documents.
- This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available.
- This is followed by submitting the application form.
Steps for offline application :
- For applying offline, the candidate needs to visit the college Admission Counsellor to fill out the form, submit original documents, and pay the fee.

SVIMS Placements
The placement cell, comprising both the faculty and students, handles and tracks SVIMS placements. The internship program forms part of a two-year program, and students are expected to complete their internship after their first year of completion.
In Dubai, Thailand, South Africa, Istanbul, and Singapore, the cell conducts an international immersion program to assist students in creating global mindsets. In addition, the cell performs an industrial visits to different remote locations.
The institute organizes frequent conferences, debates, and knowledge-sharing sessions from invited stalwarts in the industry to strengthen the industry-academia tie-ups.
Rs 12 LPA was the largest package offered and Rs 3 LPA in 2020 was the average package offered. On average, Square Yards has placed 14 students, and IDFC First Bank has placed 11 students. Yes Bank, FRR Forex, OPPO, HDFC Bank, L & T Infotech, IIFL, IDFC, AXIS Bank, and many more are some of the main recruiters.
SVIMS Scholarships :
SVIMS bursaries are offered to students from SC / ST, SBC, OBC, NT, and EBC. In addition, it also provides quick loan facilities from partner banks.

SVIMS Cut-off :
Candidates are given admission to various UG & PG courses offered at the SVIMS on the basis of the cut-offs of the respective entrance tests or merit required for qualification.
Cut-offs are released professionally by the college authority category-wise.
The reservation criteria issued by the Government of India and the state are also kept in mind. Other factors include :
- The total number of applicants applying
- The total seats available
- The previous year’s cutoffs.
The candidates that meet the criteria are only preferred for admission.
Admissions for most of the programs are done on the basis of merit, but for courses, namely :
