Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes also called Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology (SVIST) is a non-profit-making institution that was established in 2000 in Sonarpur, Kolkata. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and certified by ISO 9001: 2008. The institute is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)

SVIST offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Engineering, MBA, BBA, MSc, BSc, etc.

Admission into the institute is done on the basis of entrance exams and merit followed by institute level counseling. 

Admissions to BBA, BCA, and B.Com (Professional) are direct and subject to the availability of seats.

Admission for BTech :

BTech selection is done on the basis of JEE/WBJEE scores. Candidates must have a minimum of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in aggregate. 

For B. Tech Lateral Entry the candidate ought to have at least 60 percent marks in his/ her diploma in engineering from an institute that is permitted by the AICTE and he/ she should have cleared all the exams. The candidate should additionally have a valid rank in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET). 

Admission for BBA and BCA :

MBA aspirants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any UGC/AICTE recognized university/institution. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (45% for the applicants belonging to the reserved categories).

Admission for BTTM :

The interested candidate must have performed his/ her greater secondary education from a Central Board or State Government Board college and have to have cleared the closing category twelfth board tests of all the subjects. The applicants need to have scored at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination to be viewed eligible for the BTTM route at Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutions.

Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes Application procedure :

Admission into various courses at SVIST can be done by filling up the application forms that are available online as well as offline mode. The college changes a minimal amount as the application fee. 

Steps for Online application :

  • Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling the mandatory information in the admission tab.  
  • Fill the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of the required documents. 
  • This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available. 
  • This is followed by submitting the application form. 

Steps for offline application :

  • For applying offline, the candidate needs to visit the college Admission Counsellor to fill the form, submit original documents, and pay the fee.

Candidates are given admissions to various UG & PG courses offered at the Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes on the basis of the cut-offs of the respective entrance tests or merit required for qualification.
