Established in 1972 by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, People’s Education Society University (PESU), Ring Road Campus was earlier known as the PES Institute of Technology (PESIT), which is one of three private universities under the name PES University in Bengaluru, India. With the motto ‘ Perseverance, Excellence, Service’ it is focused on five main educational areas: Engineering, Medicine, Management, Law, and Life Sciences. The institutions offer both foundations as well as specialization courses in these fields, with a Bachelors’s, Master or Ph.D. degree.
PES University currently manages over 45 educational programs in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, with a sum of over 15000 students.
The private University comprises four campuses, namely the PESU RR Campus, PESU EC Campus, PESU HN Campus, and PES Medical Campus that offer various UG and PG courses like BA LLB, MBA, BCom, BTech, MTech, MBBS, MD, and BArch with many other.

PES University Admission 2024 :
40% of the students at PES University are given admissions in the undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET and 60% seats based on PESSAT (the university’s entrance test) ranks. PESU admitted candidates under the Mgt quota, which does not place any merit requirements. Students holding diploma degrees can directly enter the second year of study in engineering by the lateral entry scheme.
- Preparation of the merit list: The university considers the aggregate obtained by a candidate in their previous qualifying examination and PESSAT score. This process is followed by an interview round.
- PG and doctoral courses, admissions in postgraduate courses is based on the GATE test scores as well as on Post Graduate Karnataka CET After graduating, they will receive a Master of Technology degree.
On graduating, applicants will receive a Bachelor of Technology degree.

Admission to UG Courses :
- BTech: candidates must have a valid KCET/PESSAT.
- BDes: candidates with a valid UCEED/PESSAT
- BArch: candidates must have a valid NATA/JEE Main
- LLB: candidates must have a valid CLAT
- MBBS: candidates with a valid NEET UG
Admission to all other UG courses is done through PESSAT scores.
Admission to PG Courses :
- MTech: candidates must have a valid PGCET/GATE
- MBA: candidates with a valid PGCET/ CAT/ MAT.
- MD: candidates must have a valid NEET PG
Admission to all other PG courses is done through PESSAT results.
The grading system of PES University :
All the courses at the university are evaluated based on the existing grading system. A credit-based system of performance evaluation is followed.
- Students are usually marked from a total mark of 100. Talking about grades, the grading is done out of 10.
- Students are graded by taking an average of all the subject grades with their respective credit points, after the end of each semester. This is done independently with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) signifying the overall performance of the student throughout the semester.
- The grading system being followed was relative grading until June 2012, but after consultation with the university, the college switched to an absolute grading system.
