National Board Examination 2024-25 : Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Syllabus
In 1975 the National Board Examination (NBE) was founded in New Delhi as a Society under the Act on Registration of Delhi Society for the Standardization of Postgraduate Medical Education and Review in India, a self-employed entity of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (India).
Diplomate of the DNB is a postgraduate qualification awarded by the National Examining Board. The Board recognizes the Government of India which provides in the first schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 a set of recognized credentials bestowed upon the board by different specialties which super-specialties.

Examinations conducted by the National Board Examination
Foreign Medical Graduate Examinations (FMGE)
For candidates who have graduated from a university outside of Germany but want to practice in India, the FMGE is a licensing examination.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test PG (NEET PG)
The entrance examination is done to determine the acceptance of medical students to the MS / MD programs
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test MDS (NEET MDS)
The entrance exam is conducted to assess students of dentistry for admission to the MDS system.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS)
Both super-specialty (DM / MCh) Courses are admitted to NEET SS.
Post Diploma Common Entrance Test (PDCET)
The entrance examination is used to determine students for admission to DNB Broad Speciality (DNB Broad Specialty) postgraduate certificate programs.

DNB CET (Super Specialty)
The admission examination is carried out to assess doctors to join the DNB Super Specialty (DNB certification programs).
DNB Dental Specialty
The entrance examinations are administered for the purpose of testing dental students for acceptance into the DNB.
Fellowship Entrance Test (FET)
NBE accepts the FET into FNB systems after the doctorate.
Foreign Dental Graduate Screening Test(FDG ST)
FMGE is a licensing test for applicants who have studied dentistry at a foreign university but wish to practice in India.
National Board Examination: the authority behind DNB
The National Council Diplomate is the responsibility of NBE. NBE is responsible for the prize. The DNB PDGET would be accepted to DNB (Bro. Specialty) for the three-year term. For the assessment of the applicants admitted to such classes, NBE is often performing principles and functional exams.
NBE is also operating DNB CET SS after completing the MS / MD / DNB (Broad Specialization) for admission to DNB Super Specialty Courses.
National Board Examination: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the exam performed by NBE have been prescribed. In accordance with the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (Government of India), eligibility has been established for each program. Of specific tests, the NBE qualifying requirements are as follows:
Eligibility for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)
- The claimant must be an Indian / outermost resident of India.
- He/she must be certified as a primary physician and the Indian Embassy concerned must confirm that.
Eligibility for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test PG
- Candidates shall obtain an MBBS degree from a university or college accredited in India.
- A mandatory rotating internship of one year must be completed.
- The state medical council will sign him/her.
Eligibility for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test MDS
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in dentistry awarded by a university or college recognized in India.
- A mandatory rotating internship of one year must be completed.
- The state dental council must be registered with it.
Eligibility for Post Diploma Common Entrance Test (PDCET)
- Candidates shall obtain an MBBS degree from a university or college accredited in India.
- A mandatory rotating internship of one year must be completed.
- The state medical council will sign him/her.
Eligibility for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test SS
- A recognized post-graduate degree in medicine (MD / MS / DNB) is required.
- A permanent certificate of certification for their MBBS qualification must also exist.
Eligibility for DNB CET (Super Specialty)
- Applicants with Academic Degree / Temporary Transfer Authorization (MD / MS / DM / DNB / MCh)
- A permanent certificate of certification for their MBBS qualification must also exist.
- The additional requirements for medical care will be accepted in compliance with the IMC Act.
Eligibility for Fellowship Entrance Test (FET)
- Applicants with Academic Degree / Temporary Transfer Authorization (MD / MS / DM / DNB / MCh)
- A permanent certificate of certification for their MBBS qualification must also exist.
- The additional requirements for medical care will be accepted in compliance with the IMC Act.
Eligibility for Foreign Dental Graduate Screening Test (FDG ST)
- The claimant must be an Indian / outermost resident of India.
- He/she must be eligible as a primary dentist and the affected Indian Embassy will confirm.
