 GALGOTIAS UNIVERSITY met the highest academic excellence standard (NAAC A+ accreditation) in the first cycle. Galgotias is the only private university in Uttar Pradesh with a NAAC score of 3.37 out of 4 and the highest-graded autonomous institute of the UGC, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh, sponsored by Smt. Uttar Pradesh established Shakuntala Educational and Welfare Society following Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, as amended by The Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh Act, 14 of 2011. The university began operations in the 2011-12 academic year.

Galgotias University welcomed its first class in July 2011, and by 2022-2023, the university will have over 15000 students. Galgotias University aspires to and is well on its way to becoming an internationally recognized university that excels in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education, research, and innovation, producing globally competitive graduates with the potential to become leaders in their fields of endeavor. Graduates will have in-depth knowledge in their areas. Still, they will also excel in problem-solving skills, be aware of the societal context of their chosen profession, work effectively in teams, have good communication skills, and, most importantly, be life-long learners.

 

Overview of Galgotias University

Galgotias University’s “students first” philosophy is a significant reason it is consistently ranked among India’s top universities. Galgotias University emphasizes a low student-to-faculty ratio, allowing plenty of personal attention and mentoring opportunities.

This year’s record-breaking placement at Galgotias is an apt testament to the institution’s focus on upholding the highest academic standards, from selecting top faculty to introducing world-class pedagogical practices to student personality development.

They have 13 schools and 19 departments, offering over 100 programs at the Polytechnic, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels. According to the MHRD’s NIRF INDIA RANKINGS 2021, the university is ranked 151-200 among India’s top universities, 147 in the Engineering Category, 59 in Pharmacy, and 93 in Management. Two programs have been granted Tier (I) accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) (MBA and B.Pharma). The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is considering three programs (B.Tech. CSE, B.Tech. ME, and B.Tech. EC) under Tier II. Galgotias University is the country’s youngest to receive NBA accreditation.

With around 1000 plus faculty members, the university also has a campus five-star Boys Hostel accommodating approximately 1400 students and an off-campus girls’ hostel to accommodate 250 plus girls.

 

Admission, courses, and fees

Galgotias University (GU), Greater Noida, is ranked second in Uttar Pradesh and third in India, according to the GHRDC Business School Survey 2019. According to the 2019 Times B-School Ranking, it is one of the top ten private universities. The university provides 62 undergraduate, 44 graduate, 25 doctoral, one certificate, 15 diplomas, and five integrated courses. The university has 15 schools on its campus, one for each specialization. GU Noida has a track record of placing 2000+ students in 5 months. Over 450 companies have visited the university to conduct on-campus recruiting.

 

Procedure for Selection:

 

• The university admits students based on their performance in the qualifying and university-level entrance exams.
• Students are admitted to B.Tech programs based on their JEE Mains and UPSEE scores.
• It accepts the NATA score for B.Arch (National Aptitude Test in Architecture). They must receive at least 80 points out of a possible 200.
• Students applying for MBA programs must have a valid CAT/ MAT/ XAT score.
• Admission to the LL.M. program is based on the candidate’s performance in the university’s All India Entrance Test.

 

The university admits students to other courses based on their performance in the qualifying exam. After all of the documents have been verified, admission is granted.

It is a self-financed university that was founded in 2011. Galgotias University granted admission to 12 specializations in Engineering, Law, Architecture, Business, Nursing, Hospitality, Tour and Travel, Education, Applied Science, Agriculture, Finance and Commerce, and Medical and Allied Science in 2011.

 

• Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (12th) will be admitted to UG courses.
• Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields will be eligible for postgraduate studies.
• Admission to the research program requires a master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Admission to B.Tech. It will be based on the university’s Galgotias Engineering Entrance Exam (GEEE).
• NATA will be used to select students for the B.Arch course.
• The university administers the Galgotias University Management Aptitude Test for admission to the MBA program (GUMAT).
• Those with a valid CAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, or NMAT score are eligible for direct admission to the MBA program.
• The Galgotias University Law School Admission Test determines admission to the Integrated BA-LLB (Hons) and BBA-LLB (Hons) (GULSAT). Access to the LLB (Hons) program is based on performance in the CLAT or LSAT.
• Admission to the diploma program is based on the qualifying exam results.
• Students are admitted to the Ph.D. program based on their performance in the Ph.D. entrance exam (PET) and the interview round.
• Those who have passed M.Phi or have a valid NET, JR, SLET, GATE, or Teacher Fellowship Holder score are exempt from the PET.
• The remaining admissions will be determined by the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

 

Placement and ranking

Galgotias University has a long history of successful placements. The university has already begun its 2022 recruitment drive. Currently, 19 recruiters are actively participating. Tiger Analytics, EY, Deloitte, Jellyfish Technologies, and others were among the major recruiters. These recruiters have already placed one hundred eleven students in various courses.

 

The highest salary offered during the 2022 placement drive was INR 22 LPA, obtained by a B.Tech. Student.

Students received over 1000 placement offers, including two international offers, during Galgotias University Placements 2021. The highest and most common salaries were INR 35 LPA and INR 8.75 LPA, respectively.
