Under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, Lovely Professional University has been granted recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory authority of the Government of India responsible for coordinating, establishing, and maintaining the standards of higher education in India.

The University Grants Commission – Remote Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), which is in charge of overseeing open and distance learning in the higher education system, has approved Lovely Professional University. Private Lovely Professional University (LPU) was founded in 2005 and is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab. The UGC, UGC-DEB, NCTE, PCI, BCI, COA, PSCAE, ITPI, Indian Association of Physiotherapists, and AICTE have all given their approval to Lovely Professional University. Both the ACBSP and the ICAR have accredited Lovely University. Members of the AIU, IAU, IIE, The Institution of Engineers (India), and ACU include LPU Jalandhar. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, LPU University is placed number 23 among the top universities in India. Students at LPU Jalandhar can choose from 21 different academic programmes, including UG, PG, diploma, PhD, and other programmes in Management and Engineering. LPU Punjab provides both full-time and part-time course options. The university also provides students with online and distance learning opportunities.

For LPU placements in 2022, the top domestic and international packages were INR 3 crore per year and INR 64 LPA, respectively. An MNC gave a BTech CSE student the best compensation. Additionally, during LPU University placements 2022, more than 1,050 firms visited the campus and 8,400+ offers were made. Additionally, 383 LPU students were assigned to packages ranging from INR 10 LPA to INR 64 LPA.

In addition, the School of Fashion Design’s top package at LPU Placements 2022 was 38.14 LPA (Sri Lankan Rupees). Additionally, at the Lovely Professional University placements 2022, students of the MSc (Maths Hons), BBA-MBA, and MBA programmes received salary packages of INR 8 LPA and INR 7 LPA, respectively. During LPU placements 2022, 1,050 firms in total paid a visit to the campus. Additionally, at LPU placements 2022, more than 8,400 offers for jobs and internships were made.

Admission – 

LPU admissions for all programmes are available for 2023, and the LPUNEST exam (First Schedule) is held from February 1 to February 10. On the official website, candidates can apply and review their registration information. Additionally, the LPUNEST application (Second schedule) opened on February 1 and will remain open until March 31.

Admission to courses at Lovely Professional University is currently open. Through LPU Distance Education, LPU provides more than 300 degree and diploma programmes at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels (LPUDE). LPU admission in 2023 will be a multi-step procedure that includes applications, interviews, and announcement of results. The university administers the LPUNEST as its official entry and scholarship test. For admission to its UG and PG programmes, Lovely Professional University also accepts scores from a number of other national-level entrance tests, including JEE Main Part 2, NATA, CAT, MAT, XAT, etc.

There are numerous scholarships available for applicants to LPU. LPU offers a scholarship programme that awards up to INR 5.4 lakhs to each student. Additionally, LPU scholarships of more than INR 100 crore were given out in 2021. Students have a wide range of opportunities available to them after completing the course. The biggest package offered during LPU placements in 2022 was INR 3 crore annually.

Research – 

Universities are hubs for knowledge generation, research, and innovation. By fostering well-equipped labs and fostering a strong culture of inter- and intra-institution research collaborations, the Division of Research and Development (DRD) was established at LPU with the goal of strengthening and supporting research in STEM, Humanities, and Management with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research and innovation.

In order to conduct research in high-priority areas, DRD, which is made up of numerous departments and houses advanced instrumentation for various types of analytical procedures, coordinates research-related activities at the central level.

Cut-off –

Following the announcement of the LPU NEST results for each exam phase, Lovely Professional University held three rounds of online LPU NEST counselling. Seats are allotted separately for each round. For candidates who qualified for LPU NEST and registered for counselling online, the standard timetable and special schedule of counselling were made available. Seats are assigned to candidates during LPU NEST counselling depending on their rankings, course preference, and the availability of seats. Selected candidates must download their allotment letters and pay an initial fee of INR 10,000 to confirm the seats that have been assigned to them after the allocation of seats. Candidates must complete the admission form and provide the necessary paperwork.

Candidates must arrive at their assigned colleges on the dates indicated by the conducting authority for LPU NEST, along with their documents for verification and the remainder of the money. The minimum scores needed to qualify for LPU NEST are known as LPUNEST cut offs. The minimal scores are determined by the University and are dependent on a number of variables, including the quantity of applicants, the availability of seats, the average performance on the admission exam, and the cutoff from the previous year. A merit list is created based on the candidates’ LPU NEST results after the cutoff has been announced. Candidates who are shortlisted and meet the cutoffs are contacted for counselling and the seat allocation process. Additionally, students who achieved scores greater than or equal to the cutoff are also awarded scholarships.
