Vivekananda College of Law established by the Janatha Education Society was started within the year 1983 with a three-year LL.B. Course & Five-year LL.B. Course when it was first introduced by Bangalore University in the year 1986 & was started in our college in the very same year. It is the bounden duty of each citizen to understand the law. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Our goal is to motivate as many of us as possible to understand the importance of law and learn it, which can help them to deal effectively with their day-to-day transactions.
The legal profession offers immense scope in not only tackling legal problems through judicial settlements but also resorting to alternate dispute resolution systems. To contribute to the economy of the country, the corporate sector solicits legal advice and within the present scenario where the planet is reduced to a worldwide village, sound legal education will enable us to carry steadfast our status in competing and catering to international standards within the era of globalization and liberalization. The Vivekananda College of Law imparts legal education not only through its classroom lectures, but also by exposing its students to varied activities, like moot courts, legal aid camps, and legal literacy programs.

Vivekananda College of Law ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit taking into account the total marks obtained in the qualifying examination.,
- Provided that while making admission to the course reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be applied.

LL.B (5 Year) | § A candidate for admission to this course shall have passed the PUC / 10+2 years of schooling recognized by the educational authorities of the central or state government or possess such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to 10+2 courses by the Bar Council of India.
§ Such candidates shall have obtained a minimum aggregate mark of 45% for the General category (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%), 42% for OBC (41.5% and above shall be treated as 42%), and 40% for SC/ST (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) in all the qualifying examination. |
LL.B (3 YEARS) | § A candidate for admission to this course shall possess a degree from any other recognized University.
§ Such candidates shall have obtained a minimum aggregate mark of 45% for the General Category (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%), 42% for OBC (41.5% and above shall be treated as 42%), and 40% for SC/ST (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) in all the Degree examination put together. § The student should belong to the 10+2+3 pattern of studies. |
Vivekananda College of Law Eligibility Criteria
The integrated 5 Year B.Com LL.B degree program is an astute blend of Commerce and Law subjects. This Course gives special impetus to Business, Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and marketing along with law subjects. This course, apart from empowering the students to take up the traditional practice of law also helps them to get into the corporate world. The judicious blend of Commerce and Law, helps the students to further improve their managerial skills, thereby enabling them to become more adaptable to the corporate world.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for admission within the 5-year B.A., LL.B. integrated course, the candidate should: have successfully completed a Pre-University course or Senior lyceum course (‘+2’) or equivalent like (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by the government or from an equivalent institution from a far off country recognized by the govt of that country for the aim of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.
Structure of the course:
B.Com. LL. B. Degree may be a double degree course that mixes a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with Law. This course is of 5 years duration and is split into ten semesters. The degree is going to be conferred at the top of successful completion of 5 years. The course not only exposes the scholars to classroom lectures but provides ample opportunities for an internship with global and commercial organizations, industries, and civil society organizations. Since this course is interdisciplinary, it provides greater prospects for a successful career and placement options.

Vivekananda College of Law Scholarship:
Students are hereby informed to apply online for scholarships from the concerned departments through the college to :
- For S C S T Students – Social welfare department, Government of Karnataka
- OBC Students –Department of Backward Class Community, Government of Karnataka
- Minority–Concerned Department
- Children of Ex-Service Men, etc., – Concerned department
Most of the departments accept applications online after following due procedures prescribed by them like Bio Metric, obtaining a Unique ID No and Aadhar Number, hence follow the rules as prescribed by the departments, and advising to log on to the concerned department website.
In addition to the above, the Janatha Education Society with its goal of providing quality education at affordable cost, especially to meritorious, rural, and economically backward sections of the society ably supports them through student Aid scholarships, from the funds of Janatha Education Society, towards the fulfillment of its social responsibility.
