Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research (TIMSR)
In 2002, the Thakur Education Group (TEG) founded the Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research (TIMSR). ISO 9001:2015 certification has been approved by the Institute. It has also been awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A+ grade.
Collaborations and Partnerships :
For academic purposes, the Institute has an international collaboration with Royal Roads University, the Camosun Institute, and Seneca. TIMSR offers guest lectures from influential industry personalities such as Gati Logistics, Kotak Education Foundation, and Cipla.
In addition to strategic collaborations and alliances with leading international universities/institutions, including Royal Roads University, James Cook University, Middlesex University, and many more, the Institute has industry collaborations with ICCCI, CII, AIMA, ICAI, and many more for the Global Immersion Program, Student Exchange, Faculty Exchange, Learning Resource Exchange, and Joint Research Initiatives. It also has partnerships with ICICI Direct, NISM, and TE Mumbai at the national level.
Internship programs are structured to bridge the gap between the business situation in real life and academia. It provides students with opportunities to adapt to real-life scenarios and the principles learned in the classroom.
TIMSR Courses :
TIMSR provides full-time and part-time courses in various specializations at PG and PG diploma levels. The part-time master’s degree program of TIMSR for working executives allows an applicant to continue working full-time while further learning. AICTE, DTE, and the Government of Maharashtra have approved the program and are affiliated with the University of Mumbai. Via the TIMSR Centre for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (TCEI), the Student Development Cell focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills.

TIMSR Admission :
For all its PG and PG diploma-level courses, the TIMSR admissions process is available, via online mode only. For various courses, this institute has arranged a diversified admission process.
Admission to PGDM takes into account the outcome of the CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT / CMAT or Common Entrance Examination carried out by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra State, accompanied by Community Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI)
Admission to the Master’s in Management Studies (MMS) is based on the choice at the time of admission for the score obtained in the MAH CET 2020 score. In CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET, 15% of the seats will be filled.
For both PG and PGDM, part-time education facilities are provided. At the supervisory or executive level, applicants must have at least two years of work experience.
For SC/ ST group students, there is a five percent relaxation in marks.
A total of six full-time and part-time courses at PG and PGDM levels are offered by the Institute. Working managers such as Master’s in Marketing Management (MMM), Master’s in Financial Management (MFM), Master’s in Information Management (MIM), and Masters’s in Human Resource Development Management (MHRDM) are offered part-time Master’s degree programs. For MMM and MFM, the seat intake is 60 each, and 30 each for MIM and MHRDM. For PGDM and master’s degree programs, the duration is two years, while for part-time programs, the duration is three years.

Admission into MMS :
Qualifying examinations: MAH-MBA / MMS-CET and CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET Graduates from a recognized university in either stream with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate.
(Part-time) Master’s Degree Programme
Pass a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of work experience.

Application process :
Admission into various courses at TIMSR can be done by filling up the application forms that are available online as well as offline mode. The college changes a minimal amount as the application fee.
Steps for Online application :
- Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling in the mandatory information in the admission tab.
- Fill out the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of the required documents.
- This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available.
- This is followed by submitting the application form.
Steps for offline application :
- For applying offline, the candidate needs to visit the college Admission Counsellor to fill out the form, submit original documents, and pay the fee.

TIMSR Placements :
The Institute has a Cell for Training and Growth and a Student Placement Committee to assist campus placement students. A decent number of top recruiters involved in the campus drive have seen it.
Rs 4.5 LPA was the median CTC offered,
Capgemini, Amazon, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Capgemini, IndusInd Bank, etc. were only a few of the top recruiters who visited the Institute for placements.
In the last three years i.e. 2017-2019, the comparative number of students put by campus placement grew by almost 25%
TIMSR Cut-off :
Candidates are given admission to various UG & PG courses offered at the TIMSR on the basis of the cut-offs of the respective examinations or other merit required for qualification.
Cut-offs are released professionally by the college authority category-wise.
The reservation criteria issued by the Government of India and the state are also kept in mind. Other factors include :
- The total number of applicants applying
- The total seats available
- The previous year’s cutoffs.
The candidates that meet the criteria are only preferred for admission.
