Sardar Patel College of Engineering is an independent design school situated in Mumbai. It was set up by Kulapati Dr. KM Munshi. The school was introduced by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962. It is under the administration of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. It is one of the best 5 design schools in the state and has been giving great instruction for years.

BTech / BTech (Lateral Entry)
Eligibility Criteria
- For B. Tech, candidates must have passed a 10 + 2 or similar test as compulsory subjects with Physics & Mathematics along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Scientific Vocational subjects with a minimum of 50 percent marks (45 percent marks for Backward Class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects along.
- Applicants must have completed an Engineering and Technology Diploma for B.Tech (Lateral) and received at least 50 percent marks (45 percent marks for Backward Class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only),
- As an alternative to B.Tech (Lateral), B.Sc. candidates are also qualified from a recognized university as established by UGC and obtained at least 50 % marks (45% marks for Backward Class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed 10 + 2 with Maths as an obligatory subject.
- Students who qualify for an Engineering Diploma or 10 + 2 are also eligible.
- Candidates from the state of Maharashtra would appear for the MHT-CET.
- For MHT-CET / JEE Mains, all Indian applicants need to appear. JEE Mains would be preferred over MHT-CET, though.
Selection Criteria
- Admission is dependent on marks obtained in the Common Entrance Exam of Maharashtra (MHCET) or rank obtained in JEE-Mains by counseling administered by DTE Maharashtra.
- Admission for foreign students is by counseling administered by DTE Maharashtra based on marks earned in 10 + 2 compulsory subjects.
- Via the Unified Enrollment Process (CAP), enrollment for first-year engineering degree courses is obtained.
- Candidates need to file their submissions electronically in order to become eligible for CAP. They can visit and fill out the form on the website of the Technical Education Directorate, Maharashtra.
- For document verification, candidates have to return to the Application Form Receipt Center (ARC).
- Candidates will be shortlisted for CAP rounds based on their admission exam scores and recommendations for courses and colleges provided by them.
M.E. / MTech
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology from an AICTE or Central or State Government accredited institution or equivalent with a minimum mark of 50%. (45 percent for backward groups and applicants with physical disabilities)
- Candidates with a clear GATE score
- Students who are registered for the final graduation year are also registered. They must ensure that the college has its documents ready for verification within the given time period.
Selection Criteria
- Admission is by counseling performed on the basis of marks obtained in the GATE exam by DTE Maharashtra.
- The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is used for admission to postgraduate engineering degree courses.

PH.D.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree / M.Phil. A recognized university degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks (general category) or 50 percent marks (reserved category) in the required discipline.
- A teacher with full-time teaching experience of at least two years at Degree College or five years at Junior College may be a candidate.
Selection Criteria
- Admission is through the score obtained by my University of Mumbai in the PET exam and the University of Mumbai interviews.
- The PET examination gives 70 percent weight and the interview 30 percent.
Exemption For Ph.D. Exam
- Candidates who are UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET / SLET / GATE / INSPIRE/ and any other JRF holder such as CSIR / UGC / ICAR / ICMR / DBT / DST / ICSSR eligible.
- Candidates that have completed the UOM or some other recognized university M.Phil course.
- The holder of a Ph.D. degree from UOM or some other accredited institution.

- Then click the Ph.D. Application icon in PET and click the ‘Submit Online’ icon.
- The login ID and password are created after a successful registration. To fill up the application form, enter a login ID and a password.
- Print your filled-in application form for future reference after entering all the data.
- Show up for the test.
- Interview/viva-voce will be asked for by the applicants who have applied for the entrance exam.
