The Punjab University (PU), one of the earliest universities in India, was founded in Lahore in 1882 and has a long history of pursuing excellence in research and teaching in the humanities, social sciences, performing arts, and sports. The University’s two campuses were designed with academic, administrative, recreational, residential, and other needs of a rising University in mind. Infrastructure has been provided to make it self-sufficient, including a shopping centre, health centre, bank, post office, swimming pool, gym, sports grounds, botanical gardens, well-kept parks, open air theatre, guest houses, faculty houses, seminar complexes, alumni houses, community centre, and school. The Faculties of Arts, Science, Languages, Law, Education and Fine Arts, Business Management and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dairying, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture comprise the academic institutions located on campus as well as four Regional Centers. Hostels
About 40,000 employees and their dependents, students from all departments, all boys and girls living in dormitories, daily wage workers, contract employees, mess and cafeteria staff, and students of all departments are all taken care of by the Bhai Ghanaiya Ji (BGJ) Institute of Health. There is a 24-hour ambulance service and a round-the-clock emergency service accessible. Sports

The cafeteria is situated in the roomy, open campus and offers scrumptious, clean meals. The college canteen offers refreshments at reasonable prices. Even at peak hours, workers and students may find a place to sit comfortably.
PU Radio
The university’s community radio station, Radio Jyotirgamaya 91.2, serves as a bridge between the staff, students, and community members. The radio programmes are audible over a 10 kilometre radius.
Placement –
The highest and average compensation packages at Panjab University UIET (BTech and MTech) placements 2023, according to media reports, were INR 45 LPA and INR 8.89 LPA, respectively. Additionally, 383 offers in total were made at the PU UIET placements in 2023. Leading corporations like Amazon, Dabur, and American Express were among the top employers during the Panjab University placements in 2023.
