The PSG College of Technology (PSGCT) was established by the PSG & Sons’ Charities Trust in 1951. It is a private college that holds the accreditation of the All India Technical Education Council (AICTE) and is affiliated with Anna University. The autonomous, government-sponsored institution consists of 15 technology and engineering departments, as well as separate departments for computer applications, fundamental sciences, management sciences, and humanities. It offers a broad variety of UG-level BTech and BSc programs, PG-level MSc, MTech, MCA and MBA programs, and research-level Ph.D. and M.Phil programs. Also, they’re offering M.Sc. PSGCT Admission

The PSG College of Technology (PSGCT) offers a total of 48 full-time and part-time science, engineering, and management programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It offers BE / B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, ME / M.Tech, MCA, and MBA / PGDM along with MS, M.Phil. And the Ph.D. groups. It’s also given to M.Sc. An integrated program with different specializations.

The majority of admissions are based on entrance to either national level exams or internal entrances conducted jointly by Anna University. While for other courses, admission is based on merit. Details on admission are given below:

  • Admission to B.Tech shall be rendered on the basis of TNEA Counselling. Students were also required to pass 10+2 with PCM.
  • The candidate should have qualified for GATE or TANCET entry for admission to the M.Tech program. Students must also have 50% in BE / B.Tech.
  • Admission to MBA & MCA is based on the score of TANCET. Students must have completed their graduation in the related field.
  • Students must apply for the final seat allocation MBA / MCA TANCA Therapy.
  • To the B.Sc. M.Sc. Implemented in Computer System and Design. Applicants for theoretical computer science, data science, and information systems are accepted on the basis of an online exam focused on 10 + 2 level mathematics followed by an interview.
  • For MS & Ph.D. admission candidates are chosen on the basis of scores in GATE or UGC-NET or JRF or SLET or entrance by Anna University qualifying, which students are called for a personal interview.

PSGCT was established in 1951 and was founded by PSG and Sons Charities as the first private engineering institution to be established in Tamil Nadu. It’s an autonomous, government-aided college in Coimbatore.

The college is accredited by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University. NIRF ranks the college in 63 for year 2023 among other  Engineering institutes and 89 in 2023 rankings.

BE/ BTech Selection Criteria

  • Applicants shall be allocated seats on the basis of the TNEA Counselling and grades earned in 10 + 2.
  • The B.Tech / BE selection cut-offs are published by the TNEA-based Anna University.
  • The corresponding college shall prepare a merit list accordingly and shall give admissions to the candidates.

ME/ MTech Selection Criteria

  • The nominee will be chosen on the basis of the nominee GATE or TANCET entry score and the seat of the M.Tech program will be filled.
  • Seats will be distributed on the basis of TANCA Therapy.
  • The shortlisted candidates further will be called upon for record review at the time of admission.

MBA/ PGDM Selection Criteria

Students are chosen on the basis of:

  • Scores for TANCET.
  • Add to the bachelor’s degree.
  • Output in the PI or GD rounds.
  • Final seat distribution dependent on the TANCA counseling.

MCA Selection Criteria

The selection for admission depends on:

  • Scores obtained in the preceding qualifying examination.
  • Scores at the entrance to TANCET.
  • Final TANCA seat allocation based on combined scores in UG and in the entrance.

MSc Selection Criteria

  • Theoretical Computer Science; Information Systems & Data Science: online research focused on HSC Mathematics accompanied by an interview.
  • Fashion Design & Manufacturing; M.Sc.: on the basis of merit or scores obtained in the previous qualifying test.

MS, Ph.D. Selection Criteria

  • All candidates are expected to take part in the entrance exam conducted by Anna University.
  • Applicants who apply for entry at the national level, such as GATE or UGC-NET or JRF or SET, etc., are excluded from appearing at the internal entrance.
  • Students will be asked for a written examination and a personal interview if they qualify for the eligibility requirements and/or the national entry-level.

PSGCT Cut Offs

The PSG College of Technology (PSGCT) offers separate undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses to students. PSGCT admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BTech) are given to students who have a higher ranking in TNEA than the branch of the institute. Thus, the PSGCT cut-off is the minimum rank that candidates must secure in order to be admitted to their chosen course.
