NTA IIFT 2024-25

The National Testing Agency ( NTA ) has announced that it will administer the NTA IIFT 2024-25 exam on 24 January. The online application form-filling process starts any time on 6 November 2024, according to the significant dates of NTA IIFT 2024-25. Applicants wishing to register themselves and to be admitted to the PG program offered by IIFT may submit an application for NTA IIFT 2024-25 on the official website, i.e. www.iift.nta.nic.in. Before 20 December. The specific eligibility requirements should be reviewed before filling out the NTA IIFT 2024-25 application form.

In 1963, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was founded as an independent body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to contribute to the development of skills for India’s external trade market. In 2002, the Institute earned the “Deemed to be University” status. IIFT was accredited as a Grade ‘A’ institution by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) both in 2005 and 2015.

The MBA (International Business), IIFT ‘s flagship program, is a six-trimester residential general management program focusing on international business. IIFT has campuses in Kakinada, Kolkata, and Delhi.

An entrance exam and interview/group discussion, etc., is the entry to the program.

NTA IIFT Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates seeking to register in NTA IIFT 2024-25 must follow the details below to be informed about the eligibility criteria for the year 2024: 

  • Candidates must possess a recognized bachelor’s degree with a minimum term of 3 years in any discipline with 50 percent graduation marks (45 percent for SC / ST / PWD applicants).
  • Applicants appearing in the final year of the graduation test can also apply. 
  • No age limit exists.

For General / Reserved Category Candidates:

Recognized bachelor’s degree with a minimum duration of 3 years in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks [45 percent in the case of applicants from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste (SC),
Categories of Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD)] (worked out based on aggregate marks obtained in all documents).

Candidates who have applied for a qualifying examination may also apply by 7 October 2024, subject to the submission of proof of the required qualification.
In this examination, there is no age limit for appearing.

Admission to the bachelor’s degree examination of any candidate who joins the program on a provisional basis but does not obtain a minimum percentage will be automatically canceled immediately.

Such candidates should inform the Institute of the declaration of their results immediately. The admission of candidates who do not report such a situation to the Institute will be automatically canceled on 7 October 2024. No request for an extension of time will be entertained for re-evaluation, etc.

For Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates:

Recognized bachelor’s degree with a minimum term of 3 years with at least 50 percentage points.

Candidates who have qualified for a qualifying examination can also apply by 7 October 2024, subject to the submission of proof of the qualification required.

An applicant should have been (expected to be) a resident outside India for no less than 18 months as of 31 December 2024 and be outside India during the NTA IIFT examination window to qualify as a foreign candidate to apply for the NTA IIFT entrance exam. A certificate from the Indian Embassy / High Commission / Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently based should be provided by Indian nationals living, working, or studying abroad with the application, stating that the candidate has been resident in that country on an ongoing basis for not less than 18 months as of 31 December 2024.

Foreign nationals from a country other than India need to have a valid passport/travel document.

The Foreign Nationals / NRI present at the time of the NTA IIFT 2024-25 entrance test in India are needed to take the entrance test.

The applicant should deliver a Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score to be obtained by the Institute by 15 March 2024 at the latest. GMAT is not available before 1 January 2019.

If the applicant has appeared in India for any MBA entrance examination for the academic year 2024-25, such as CAT / XAT / IIFT, etc., he/she is not qualified to apply as a nominee for Foreign Nationals / NRI. Candidates are expected to submit applications for the same NRI-Sponsored applicants to the undertaking and Children of the NRIs are not included in this group.

Applications under the Self-financing Scheme for foreign nationals should be routed via the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Ministry of Education, Government of India and should be received no later than 15 March 2021 by the Institute. With the submission, they must submit a copy of their correct GMAT score.

NTA IIFT 2020-21

NTA IIFT MBA(IB) 2024-24 Guidelines:

Candidates can apply only via “Online” mode for IIFT MBA(IB) 2024-25.

Online application forms can be submitted via the NTA website. It will not approve the Application Form in any other mode.

An applicant is only allowed to submit one application.

As defined in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website, candidates must follow the instructions strictly. Applicants that do not comply with the instructions are summarily disqualified.

Applicants must ensure that the e-mail address and mobile number are given in Online.

Application Form is their own because NTA can only send all information/communication via e-mail to the registered e-mail address or SMS to the registered mobile number.

Applicants are advised to visit the NTA website and regularly check their e-mails for the latest updates.

Applicants must appear at their own expense at the Examination Centre on the date indicated by the NTA on their Admission Card.

Under no circumstances shall any request for a change to the Examination Centre given on the Admission Card be considered.

Incomplete application forms will be rejected and no correspondence will be retained on this account.

Under no conditions will any appeal for reimbursement/refund of the fee until remitted by the candidate be entertained by NTA.

The whole IIFT MBA(IB) 2024-25 application process, including uploading of scanned images, payment of fees, and printing of the confirmation page, is online. Applicants are therefore not required to send/submit any document(s) via Post / Fax / Hand / E-mail to NTA, including the confirmation page.

NTA IIFT 2024-25 Registration Procedure:

Candidates must remember that to take part in the test, they will have to register their names via the official website.

  • Visit the official NTA exam website, i.e. www.iift.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the IIFT 2024 Application Form Connection.
  • Deliver basic info.
  • Use registered credentials to log into the portal.
  • Complete the application form shown on the page with personal, academic, and other information.
  • Upload the requisite papers.
  • Send the Application Form for IIFT 2024.
  • Make the required payment of request fees.
  • Download the Confirmation of application submission page.
  • For future reference, take a printout of the confirmation page.

NTA IIFT 2024-25 Exam pattern

Time Management:

The NTA IIFT 2024-25 issue paper will be composed of 110 or more MCQs. No sectional time limit exists for any of the IIFT pages. Experts, however, advise that a time limit for solving each section must be set by the candidates.

General Knowledge: 8 – 10 minutes

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension: 25 – 30 minutes

Quantitative Aptitude: 30 – 35 minutes

Logical Reasoning and Data interpretation: 40 – 45 minutes

Seat Reservation Policy

According to the guidelines of the Government of India, the following seat reservation policy is adopted:

  • 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC).
  • 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST).
  • 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the “Non-Creamy layer” (OBC-NCL).
  • 10% of the seats are reserved for the Category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-
    EWS),
  • Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in
    The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016) is quoted below.

NTA IIFT 2024 Result & Scorecard:

The results of the IIFT 2024 exam will be revealed at the end of January. The outcome of NTA IIFT 2024-25 will be revealed in the form of a PDF shortlist of candidates to be downloaded from the official website.

A few days after the publication of the ‘candidate shortlist’, the scorecard will be given to each candidate. By using their IIFT login ID and password, candidates will be allowed to download their respective scorecards.

Results will be processed based on the response keys checked.
The raw marks received by the applicants will be transformed into a percentile.

It calculates the NTA score as follows:

A total number of candidates who obtained raw marks equal to or less than candidate x 100 / A total number of candidates who appeared in the exam.

The NTA IIFT  score for the exam is not an aggregate or average NTA score for each segment.

The NTA IIFT  score is not equal to the percentage of marks earned. The list of shortlisted candidates for the second round of the MBA(IB) 2024-25 admission process will be shown on the official NTA IIFT website.

The findings will be hosted on NTA’s website. An applicant’s scorecard will also be hosted on the NTA website.No re-evaluation / re-checking of the outcome will take place. Correspondence shall not be entertained in this respect.

NTA IIFT 2024 Preparation Tips and Tricks:

A well-thought-out plan for the day of the exam is a must to maximize your results. See below for a few IIFT Examination Day tips.

If you have seen the questions, make a list of each segment and attempt to follow it. This will allow you to answer as many questions about making sure, how making, that the emphasis should not only be on the maximum number but also accuracy.

  • Stop the chance of being marked negatively. Do not try to ask questions that you are not sure about
  • Using the extra time to test responses that you do not trust.
  • Do not get bogged down by difficult questions and move on.

Applicants must ensure that they pass a sufficient number of NTA IIFT mocks to handle any form of examination document. Mock tests are an important part of the preparation for the NTA IIFT exam, as it allows candidates to understand the pattern of the exam & test structure and to analyze their level of preparation for each section and each subject.
