What is MICAT 2024?
The MICAT Admissions Test 2024 (MICAT 2024) is an online entrance test for the MICA’s flagship course Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C). The MICAT test is performed in two steps. MICAT I takes place in December and MICAT II takes place in February. Registration for both the tests is conducted separately and the applicants must appear in one of the two exams. The MICAT 2024-25 review and registration schedule is scheduled to be announced shortly.

Selection Process
Step 1: Candidates have to take CAT/ XAT / GMAT exam.
Step 2: Those who have taken any of the abovementioned exams, are eligible for MICAT. In MICAT, all candidates are evaluated as follows:
Section A: Psychometric Research
Section B: Verbal Capacity, Quantitative Capacity and Data Interpreting, General Awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thought
Section C: Descriptive Testing
Step 3: GE & PI: Applicants who qualify for CAT / XAT / GMAT & MICAT I and II shall appear for both Group Exercise (GE) & Personal Interview (PI) applications.
- Preparation of the shortlist of GE & PI candidates
Section A of the MICAT, that is. Psychometric evaluation is a qualifying exam.
Those who qualify on the Psychometric, their relative output on the CAT / XAT / GMAT will be treated as a minimum cut off basis.
Those who satisfy Section A on the basis of CAT / XAT / GMAT results will be evaluated under Section B of the MICAT.
Subsequently, candidates who qualify for Section B will be judged for their results in Section C.
Those who clear sections A, B and C will be called to GE / PI in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Admission Procedure
Step 1: MICAT
Applicants must fill out the application form on the official website to apply for MICAT and pay Rs 1965 online as a test fee. After successful registration, applicants will receive their MICA ID and MICA password via email. This MICA ID shall be used for all possible communications and login purposes.
Step 2: Admission Card
Admission cards for MICAT 2024-25 will be given to candidates who have successfully registered for the test. Applicants will be allowed to download their admission cards from the official website.
Step 3: test
MICAT is held twice in a single period of entry. Applicants who clear the Psychometric Test will be tested on the rest of the criteria and the review rounds.
Step 4: Results
The MICAT 2024 result will be published online on the official website. Test users can verify their scores by using their login credentials. The result will be that selected applicants for GE / PI will be invited to different MICA campuses.
Step 5: Group Exercise / Personal Interview
The shortlist of GE / PI candidates will be based on their CAT / XAT / GMAT score and MICAT I and MICAT II ratings.

MICAT 2024 Exam Pattern
The MICAT 2024 test is performed in online mode. The question paper consists of approximately 94-105 questions to be answered within 2.5 hours. The format of the questions in MICAT is both objective and descriptive. Learn more about the test pattern below:
The Question Paper shall be divided into three sections:
Section A:
Psychometric Research (36 questions)
Section B:
Verbal Ability (25 questions), Quantitative Ability(25 questions), General Knowledge (24) and Diversity-Convergent Reasoning (30)
Section C:
Descriptive Testing (4)
Note: 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answers and -0.25 mark will be deducted for in correct answers.
Some key points;
- Section A (Psychometric Test) is a qualifying test. Applicants will be assessed under Section B and Section C only if Section A is cleared.
- Those who clear Section A and Section B will be judged under Section C.
- If an applicant fails to apply for a section, the following section will not be assessed.
- Applicants who qualify for Sections A, B and C will be chosen for Community Exercise and Personal Interview.
MICAT 2024 Syllabus
The MICAT syllabus shall be prescribed, Ahmedabad. Since MICAT is being conducted for admission to the advanced programme, i.e. PGDM in Correspondence, Syllabus and MICAT test trends vary from other MBA entrance exams. The MICAT question paper shall be divided into three parts. Of the three parts. Below is the syllabus for all three parts of the exam
Section A: Psychometric Research
Psychometric testing is the first part of the query report. This segment is essentially a personality test that measures the candidate’s reasoning process and ability to solve problems.
Applicants must first clear this section in order to be able to assess their success in the second and third sections.
This portion is generally divided into three sets of questions.
In this segment, two questions are posed in the form of claims that must be evaluated and evaluated on the basis of their closeness to their personality.
The third question is a collection of answers to be measured from 1 to 6 in the circumstances.
Section B: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Knowledge, Divergence-Convergent Reasoning
Section B syllabus covers the same topics as other MBA entrance exams, namely, Verbal Capacity, Quantitative Capacity, General Knowledge and Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (also known as logical reasoning).
Section C: Descriptive Testing
The syllabus of this section is not described as questions from a sector. This section of the MICAT exam contains three-four descriptive questions, such as essay writing, storey writing and a passage arguing for or against a subject. A selection of photographs will be given to the candidates to make a storey out of it. So candidates must read essay writing and fiction on current affairs in order to improve creative writing skills for storey writing.
