Chandigarh Business School of Administration also known as CBSA is a private institution that was established in 2009 in Landran, Punjab. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CBSA is a unit of Chandigarh Group of Colleges and affiliated to Punjab Technological University (PTU). 

As a private Institution, it provides 8 courses across 3 streams. The popular programmes include B.Com, M.Com, M.A. etc. 

The College has access to all basic facilities such as powerhouse, Wi-Fi, Computer labs, auditorium, cafeteria, visitor house, seminar hall, smart classrooms, distinct hostels for boys and girls, and transport facility.

Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA) offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of business administration, computer application and commerce.

Admission into CBSA is done on the basis of entrance exams and merit followed by an institute level counseling. 

Admissions to BBA, BCA, and B.Com (Professional) are direct and subject to availability of seats.

Admission for BBA, B.Com, and BCA :

CBSA is recognized to offer degree publications of BBA, B.Com, and BCA at the Undergraduate level. The decision of getting a seat is primarily based on the merit of qualifying examinations and availability of seats in that unique course. Candidates ought to register online after ensuring the eligibility standards.

All candidates who have passed 10+2 examinations in any of the recognized streams are eligible for BBA admissions. 

In the case of B.Com, candidates must have secured a minimum of 33% aggregate in the field of commerce and a minimum of 45% marks in other relevant streams of 10+2. B.Com candidates are required to show up for a non-public interview for final selection. 

For admission into BCA, candidates must have passed 10+2 pass with minimum 45% marks (For SC/ST minimum 40% is required). 

Admission for MBA, MCA, and MCA (Lateral Entry) 

MBA aspirants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institution.

Candidates seeking admission in MCA must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. 

Candidates must also have Math/Stats/ Business/Stats/ Quantitative Techniques as one of the subjects at 10+2 or degree level Or BCA or PG diploma in computer science.

MCA (Lateral Entry) admission is based on BCA/ B.Sc degree in IT or Computer Science. Mathematics must be a compulsorily opted subject at 10+2 or degree and with minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved category candidates)

Notes :

  • Government quota: 66.66% seats
  • Management quota: 33.33% seats
  • MCA aspirants must have completed three years of graduation from any UGC recognized university or AICTE approved institution.
  • 5% relaxation is given to reserved category candidates of Punjab only in lateral entry courses.

CBSA Application procedure :

Admission into various courses at CBSA can be done by filling up the application forms that are available in the online as well as offline mode. The college changes an amount of ₹1000 as the application fee.

Steps for Online application :

  • Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling the mandatory Information in the admission tab.  
  • Fill the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of required documents. 
  • This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available. 
  • The candidate must take a print out of the form and payment receipt and is required to report to the college within ten days and submit original documents along with the admission letter.

Steps for offline application :

  • The candidate must register in the official website of the college. 
  • After this, the candidate needs to visit the college Admission Counsellor to fill the form, submit original documents and pay the fee.

CBSA Scholarships :

Given below are the categories in which the Chandigarh Business School of Administration offers scholarships. Scholarships are meant to encourage the performance of meritorious and needy students. Students can retrieve the scholarships during the time of admission.

Saksham Scholarships Scheme 

Amount : INR 50,000 annually

Scheme : offered to differently-abled students.

Pragati Scholarships Scheme

Amount : INR 50,000

Scheme : For girls belonging to a family with less than 8 Lakhs annual income.

National backward classes finance and development corporation (NBCDEF) 

Scheme : Offered to candidates belonging to backward classes with annual income between INR 98,000 – INR 1,20,000.

Center Sector scheme of scholarship Scheme : Offered to college and university students belonging to a family with income less than 4.5 Lakhs per year.

CBSA Placements :

Chandigarh Business School of Administration

Chandigarh Business School of Administration has a well focused and dedicated placement cell that aims at providing the best opportunities and practical exposure to the students. The various skill development rounds help the students to be prepared for any future challenge.

The college has consistently been performing well with an average placement percentage of 60% – 70%.

The highest salary package offered was around 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies of the college include TCS and other private banks like Axis bank. The college also arranges training programs which includes quantitative, aptitude, GK, debates, GDs and all things related to the placements and recruitments. 

CBSA Cut-off :

Candidates are given admissions to various UG & PG courses offered at the Chandigarh Business School of Administration on the basis of the cut-offs of the respective entrance tests or merit required for qualification. 

Cut-offs are released professionally by the college authority category-wise. 

The reservation criteria issued by the Government of India and the state are also kept in mind. Other factors include:

  • The total number of applicants applying
  • The total seats available
  • The previous year’s cutoffs.
