MITH has a strong focus on research and development. It has been designated as the Centre for Excellence in Research by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). 

 Research is encouraged through various programs such as Summer Research Programme and Research and Development Assistance Programme. Furthermore, MITH has been recognized as a research and development park under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship jurisdiction. 

 A laboratory has been set up under the Department of Science and Technology of the Indian Government to create research and development infrastructure. The aim is to develop R&D infrastructure to facilitate research and development in engineering and technology. With this, the Institute can also participate in various national and international projects.

 The Institute can also participate in programs like IIT Bombay, IISC, IISc, IIT Kanpur, etc. All these have helped develop a network of internationally recognized research institutions and groups.

 Infrastructure

The infrastructure at MITH is one of the finest in the state of Uttar Pradesh. With a student population of over 6000, the Institute has a campus of over 100 acres and is spread across three campuses in Moradabad. A state-of-the-art infrastructure has been put in place on the campus. 

 The nine academic blocks with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi connectivity, smart classrooms, the Central Library with a collection of about 6 lakh books, the Central Computing Centre, the Central Food Court, and the Central Canteen with quality food are some of the unique features of the infrastructure at MITH.

 With the recent addition of a BEd College Block and a Hostel Block, the infrastructure at MITH is expected to improve further soon.

 Emphasis on Research and Development
