Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce, (GSCC) Wardha

In Central India, Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce, Wardha, has been at the forefront of commerce education. Sardar Vallabhai Patel gave the first Commerce College's inaugural speech in 1940. The foundation of the Commerce department at Nagpur University (now known as RTM Nagpur University) was a result of it. It was the first M.Com. program in this area to begin in 1944. Gandhiji, who launched it on August 9, 1945, was the driving force behind the first Commerce course to be taught in Hindi in 1945. On November 11, 1961, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri conducted the college building's bhoomi pooja. On December 6, 1964, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the Indian president at the time, inaugurated the structure.

Since its founding in 1914 by Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, the parent institution of the college, Shiksha Mandal, Wardha, has been dedicated to offering nationalistic, values-based, high-quality education. In 1937, Shiksha Mandal held the first Indian Education Conference, which was presided over by Gandhiji. As such, we are aware of our legacy and our need to live up to it. Shiksha Mandal, which is currently led by Shri Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto Ltd., is unwaveringly supportive of us in this.

There are currently 803 students enrolled at the undergraduate level in the college, up from 158 at the beginning. The college also launched an M.Com. program in 1944, enrolling 7 students at first. As of right now, there are 203 students enrolled in our postgraduate program. We work hard to live up to our motto, "Udyogiham Purushsinham Urpeti Laxmi" (Working men with a lion's heart create wealth). The campus of the college is 6.6 acres in size and is peaceful. Two large, double-story buildings with all the amenities required to satisfy the needs of both instructors and students make up the infrastructure. The college runs on a single shift in order to support more extracurricular and athletic activities as well as greater academic effort. It features two computer laboratories, a language lab, a commerce lab, a central library with over 50,000 books, internet access, and the necessary library software in addition to the standard amenities. There are eighteen permanent teaching faculty members at the college, ten of whom are doctorates and nine of whom are supervisors. Six of them are co-authors or authors of books about management and commerce. CA (Final) is home to one of them. The College is renowned for selecting its professors solely on the basis of merit. It has been posting job openings on the UGC employment site recently.
