The Khaja Education Society was founded in 1958 and registered in 1966 by the late Padmashree Janab Syed Shah Muhammad Muhammad Al Hussaini Saheb under the Mysore Societies Registration Act 1960. This minority society in Gulbarga currently oversees about 24 educational establishments, including primary, secondary, and higher education schools.

The original purpose of the Khaja Education Society was to foster the dreams and ambitions of the Muslim community. However, since its founding, it has been able to offer ground-breaking services thanks to its charitable approach and compassion for the underprivileged segments of society. It has been promoting the welfare of all people, regardless of their caste, religion, or faith. 2007 saw the capable successorship of Janab Dr. Syed Shah Khusro Hussaini, son of the distinguished Janab Syed Shah Muhammad Al Hussaini. Dr. Hussaini, who has a strong academic background, is an idealist with an acute sense of practical issues.

On February 23, 2017, the Khaja Education Society submitted an application to the Karnataka government for a private university. The Screening Committee, which was established by the Karnataka government's Higher Education Department, inspected the society's higher education institutions.
