The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), is one of the most competitive national-level entrance exams which permits the candidates to get permanent registration from the Medical Council Of India.

The FMGE is held by the National Board of Examination (NBE) every year twice it is conducted in the month of June and December

The FMGE Exam is conducted in Online mode or computer-based test and conducts exams at more than 200 exam centers in more than 80 cities.

The duration of FMGE 2024 is 130 minutes. While carrying the admit card candidates need to also carry one official Identity proof such as an Aadhar card, PAN card, Driving license, or Voter card.

FMGE 2024 Exam Important Dates

 For June Session

• Tentatively the registration of candidates will start from 2nd week of March 2024.
• The last date for the registration of candidates will be 1st week of April 2024.
• The correction facility for the applicants will start from 1st week of April 2024.
• Tentatively the issue of Admit cards in online mode will begin from 1st week of June 2024
• The exam will commence from 30th June 2024.
• The result of the exam will be released in the last week of June 2024.

For December Session

• Tentatively the registration of candidates will start from the 2nd week of October 2024.
• The last date for the registration of candidates will be 1st week of April 2024
  The correction facility for the applicants will start in the first week of December 2024.
• Tentatively the issue of Admit cards in online mode will begin from 2nd week of December 2024
• The exam will commence from the 3rd week of December 2024.
• The result of the exam will be released in the last week of 3rd week of January 2025.

FMGE 2024 Exam Application  fees

The application fee for General candidates is Rs. 6000 with an additional 18% GST. The total fees will be Rs.7080.

How to apply

1. The application process for FMGE is completely online based.
2. Applicants need to apply through the official website.
3. After applying applicants need to register themselves with their Mobile number and email ID.
4. After successful registration, a login account of the candidate will be created.
5. Now, candidates need to log in and upload all the required documents such as passport size photo and signature, and academic details.
6. After successful uploading of all the documents, candidates need to pay the application fee.
7. After successful registration applicants need to take a printout of the application form.
      

FMGE 2024 Exam Eligibility 

• Candidates who are going to appear for FMGE 2024 need to be qualified for any primary medical qualifications degree or any medical course from a recognized Indian embassy.
• Applicants must be citizens of India or Overseas citizens of India.
• Candidates who have registration of UG and PG in India and have a medical degree from Any foreign institutes are not required to appear for the test.
• There is no age limit or number of attempts for the candidates

FMGE Exam pattern

The Difficulty level of the exam is moderate to high. The question paper contains MCQ-type questions and will be held in online mode in Part 1 and Part 2.

A total number of 300 questions will be given the applicants will get 150 minutes to complete the paper.

> For attempting every correct answer applicants will get 1 mark for each question.

> For attempting every wrong answer no marks will be deducted.

> For unattempted questions, no marks will be deducted.

1. Medicine and Allied Subjects

Medicine includes 33 marks

Psychiatry includes  05 marks

Dermatology and STD includes 05 marks 

Radiotherapy includes 05 marks

2. General Surgery and Allied Subjects

General surgery includes 32 marks

Radio diagnostics includes 05 marks

Orthopedics includes 05 marks

Anesthesiology includes 05 marks

3. Pediatrics 

Ophthalmology includes 15 marks

Obstetrics and gynecology includes 30 marks

Otolaryngology includes 15 marks

Community Medicine includes 30 marks

For Pre and Para clinical Subjects 

Anatomy includes 17 marks

Physiology includes 17 marks

Biochemistry includes 17 marks

Pathology includes 13 marks

Microbiology includes 13 marks

Pharmacology includes 13 marks

Forensic medicine includes 10 marks
