Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 Registration

Karnataka Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance exam, this exam is conducted by the Karnataka Government for the admission of candidates into engineering colleges. The exam is conducted once a year.

The registration of KCET 2024 has started from the 10th of January 2024. To fill out the application form, candidates must visit the official website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

The exam is conducted offline in pen and paper mode and is held in more than 50 exam centres.

Important dates

  • Registration of candidates for the exam has begun on 10 January 2024.
  • The last date for the registration of candidates is 10th February 2024.
  • The applicant"s admit card will be released on 5th April 2024.
  • The exam will commence on 18th April 2024.
  • The result of the exam will be declared on 20th May 2024.

Application process

  • The application process for KCET is completely online based.
  • Applicants can apply through the official admission portal of KCET.
  • After applying, applicants need to register themselves with accurate details.
  • After successful registration, the candidate"s login account will be created.
  • Now, candidates need to log in and upload all the required documents.
  • After successfully uploading all the documents, candidates need to pay the application fee in online mode.

Application fee

  • The application fee for 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B Karnataka candidates is Rs. 500.
  • Candidates who belong to SC, ST, need to pay an application fee of Rs. 250.
  • Candidates from other states are needed to pay an application fee of Rs.750.
  • International candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs.5000.

Eligibility

  • Candidates who are desired to appear in KCET 2024. Must clear his/her intermediate with an aggregate of 45% marks from a recognized board.
  • Along with the main subjects, candidates should also opt for optional subjects.
  • There is no age limit for the candidates.

Exam pattern

The Difficulty level of the exam is moderate to high. The question paper contains MCQ-type questions. The duration of the exam is around 1 hour 20 minutes and contains a total of 180 questions. Each question carries 3 sections, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, and each section carries 60 marks.

For attempting every correct answer, candidates will get one mark for each answer.

For attempting every wrong answer no marks will be deducted.

For unattempted questions, no marks will be deducted.
