The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Intimation Slip 2024

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance exam is one of the most competitive exams in design.

The authorities will release the Intimation slip very soon on the official website at www.nift.ac.in. The slip includes the details of the allotted cities in which the exam will be conducted.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology conducts an entrance exam for the admission of applicants to various UG and PG designing courses once every year. The body conducts exams in two stages based on the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT).

Applicants who are interested in applying for Bachelor"s and Master"s degree programs need to appear for both CAT and GAT exams, the duration of the exams is 120 minutes after that, the shortlisted students need to sit for a Situation test and Personal interview.

GAT will be a computer-based exam, and the rest of the exams will be conducted offline.

NIFT Important Dates:-

  • The Admit card of the candidates for NIFT will be realized tentatively on the 2nd or 3rd week of January.
  • The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may direct the exam from the 1st week of February 2024.
  • Tentatively, the result will be out in March 2024 on the official website of NIFT.
  • The final result of NIFT will be based on the weightage of the exams that the candidate scores.

NIFT Application Process

  • The application process of NIFT is online based.
  • Applicants can apply through the official admission portal of NIFT.
  • After applying, applicants need to register themselves with accurate details.
  • After successful registration, the candidate"s login account will be created.
  • Now, candidates need to log in and upload all the documents.
  • After successfully uploading all the documents, candidates must pay the application fee of INR 3000.

NIFT Application fee

The application fee for the general category is 3000, but a relaxation of 1,500 is permitted for SC, ST, and  PwD Candidates.

NIFT Eligibility

For Undergraduate

Applicants must pass 10+2 with an aggregate of 50-60% from CBSE, State board, or any recognized board.

For Postgraduate 

Applicants must clear his/her graduation with an aggregate of 50-60% from a recognized institute.

For the Bachelor program, candidates must be below the age of 24 at the time of admission.

SC, ST, and PwD candidates are permitted an age relaxation of 5 years.

For the Master"s program, there is no age bar for the candidates.
