Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), earlier known as Nagpur University, is a prominent state public university in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Established on the 4th of August 1923, it is an ancient Indian university and the second-oldest in Maharashtra. It has been renamed after the great spiritual icon and social reformer Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj. The university has grown from its humble start with a modest infrastructure of six affiliated colleges and 927 students to a full-fledged university with numerous academic programs. RTMNU has jurisdiction in the Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, and Gondia districts and is renowned for its emphasis on academic excellence and wholesome education.

The university houses a vast array of faculties, such as Arts & Humanities, Science, Social Sciences, Home Science, Medicine, Commerce, Education, Engineering & Technology, Law, and Ayurveda. It has 39 postgraduate departments that impart teaching and two constituent colleges: the Law College and the College of Education. The campus is spread over about 317 acres of land and offers sufficient space for academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. RTMNU has given way to some excellent alumnus personalities who made and continue making landmark contributions towards and in areas, including Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, Union Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Former Vice President Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah.
