In 1945, Shiksha Mandal Wardha founded Govindram Seksaria College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur, to meet the pre-independence demand for commerce education in the area. G. S. College of Commerce, Wardha is the first commerce college in the city of Nagpur, and this one is the only second in Nagpur University. The college was steered towards success by renowned Gandhians and freedom fighters like Shri Jamnalal Bajaj and Shri Krishndas Jajoo, who established Shiksha Mandal. Additionally, the college was supported by Seth Govindaram Seksaria, Shri Kamlnayanji Bajaj, Shri Ramkrishnaji Bajaj, and a multitude of other exceptional individuals who occasionally impacted our existence.

G. S. College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur, has established itself as a leading commerce college in the nation today. Under the dynamic direction of Shri Rahul Bajaj, President of Shiksha Mandal, Wardha, who has always motivated our unwavering pursuit of excellence, the college is renowned for its high academic standards, qualitative growth, and ethical practices. The institution is now proud to be the first Autonomous Commerce institution within RTM Nagpur University, having received an "A" rating for reaccreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore, in 2016.

Originally intended to be a specialized commerce college, G. S. College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur is now justifying its origins by successfully implementing undergraduate and graduate programs in management and commerce. A junior college for vocational and commerce education is also available to us. We also provide more than a dozen complimentary certificate programs as a value addition to our standard offerings. Additionally, new UG, PG, and Certificate courses will be added under Autonomy in the near future to give students greater horizontal and vertical mobility and to enhance their competencies.
