Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Hassan, provides undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses aimed at providing students with in-depth knowledge and clinical skills. The undergraduate flagship course is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with a duration of 5.5 years, with a one-year mandatory rotating internship. Admission to the MBBS course is by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The curriculum aligns classroom studies with practical clinical training, gearing students for actual practice in medicine.

 

At the postgraduate level, HIMS provides courses in Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in specializations of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, General Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology. These courses last 3 years on average and demand candidates to qualify in NEET-PG. The postgraduate courses emphasize higher-level medical training, research, and specialization in relevant fields. The UG as well as the PG programs are affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and accredited by the National Medical Commission (NMC), which promotes high academic quality and professional accreditation.
