The Pune Institute of Computer Technology, or PICT for short, is a prestigious university known as "The Oxford of the East." Since its founding in 1983, PICT has been transforming the educational landscape by producing engineers who are both competent and prepared for the workforce.

According to the EDU-RAND ranking from 2015, PICT is placed eighth among private engineering institutions in India, first among all private engineering institutions in Maharashtra, and fourth among all engineering institutions, including IITs, NITs, and Maharashtra's government colleges. According to the NIRF 2021 Ranking, PICT is ranked between 201 and 250.

Internship Opportunities

• Supportive seniors: Seniors are very helpful and approachable for advice, contributing to a positive learning environment.
• Coding culture: The college has a strong coding culture, especially in the library, which is always occupied, providing a great environment for coding and learning.
• Cross-branch learning: Even Electronics and Telecommunication (ENTC) students get exposure to computer science courses like Data Structures and DBMS alongside their core subjects.
• Internship in the 3rd year: Students complete internships during the 3rd year, gaining practical experience before placements.
• Capgemini internships: Capgemini offers various internship opportunities for all branches, and students work on group projects, presenting them to faculty and external evaluators. The stipend is average but reasonable.

• Campus placement eligibility: Students become eligible for campus placements after the 6th semester.
• Companies visiting: Notable companies like PhonePe, UBS, Siemens, Capgemini, TCS, Accenture, Infosys, and Audi visit for campus recruitment.
• Highest package: ₹28 LPA (lakh per annum).
• Average package: ₹5 LPA.
• Placement percentage: 95% of students are placed each year.
• Campus Recruitment Training (CRT): Training starts from the 2nd year and becomes progressively advanced in higher years.

Pune Institute of Computer Technology-  Scholarship

1. Scholarships from the government

• The Maharashtra State Government offers scholarships to students who fall under one of the following reserved categories: SC, ST, OBC, NT, VJ, or SBC. These consist of:
• Scholarship for Post-Matric Students (PMS)
• Chahatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Scholarship for Maharaj Merit
• Scholarship for the Economically Backward Class (EBC)
• Eligibility: Students must be Maharashtra residents and fulfil the government's specified financial or category requirements.

2. Scholarships from AICTE

• Female students pursuing technical education are eligible for the Pragati Scholarship for Girls. The purpose of this award is to encourage girls to pursue engineering and technology studies.
• Eligibility requirements include meeting economic and academic performance standards and being enrolled in the first year of a technical degree program.
• Saksham Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: offers students with disabilities financial support.
• Students who are enrolled in technical courses and have a disability of greater than 40% are eligible.

3. Scholarships for Minorities

• Students from minority groups (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) are eligible for the Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship.
• Minority students who earn less than INR 2.5 lakhs annually and who received at least 50% on their previous qualifying test are eligible.

4. Scholarships offered by institutions

• For deserving students, PICT offers institutional scholarships and price reductions depending on their academic achievement and results on entrance tests such as MHT CET and JEE Main.
• Students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who perform exceptionally well academically are also eligible for financial aid.

5. Scholarships offered by private organisations

• Students can apply for scholarships from a number of private organisations, which are determined by their financial need and merit. Students are encouraged and supported by PICT to apply for these other scholarships.
