Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) conducts its admission process online. Aspiring students visit the official university website to submit their applications. Selection is based on either an entrance exam or a merit list :

Step-Wise SOT PDEU Admission Process:

1. Application Process (2024):

• Candidates applying for All India Quota seats in BTech must register on the official SOT PDEU website.
• For Government seats, aspirants should apply through The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) Gujarat’s official website.
• Aspirants applying for other courses need to register directly on the SOT PDEU website.
• Application fees vary based on the candidate’s location:

• Candidates passing Class 12 from schools in Gujarat: INR 700
• Candidates passing Class 12 from schools outside Gujarat: INR 1,200
• MTech/PhD applicants: INR 700
• BSc applicants: INR 500

1. Selection:

• SOT PDEU selects candidates based on entrance exam scores:

• JEE Main for BTech
• GATE for MTech

• Non-GATE qualified candidates undergo a personal interview.
• Written tests are conducted for MSc and PhD programs.
• BSc selection is based on merit in the last qualifying exam and performance in the personal interview.

1. Merit List and Admission Confirmation:

• The university releases a merit list based on candidate performance.
• Selected candidates confirm their seats by paying the course fee.

1. Merit Scholarship (Full Tuition Fee Waiver):

• Eligibility based on JEE Main and ACPC ranks

• Chemical Engineering/Civil Engineering: JEE Main Rank 1 - 75000, ACPC Rank 1 - 3500
• Computer Engineering: JEE Main Rank 1 - 20000, ACPC Rank 1 - 200
• Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering: JEE Main Rank 1 - 75000, ACPC Rank 1 - 3500
• Electronic & Communication Engineering/Information & Communication Technology Engineering: JEE Main Rank 1 - 40000, ACPC Rank 1 – 300

1. Special Merit Scholarship:

• 25% tuition fee waiver for students admitted to B.Tech. 2023-2027 batch in Civil/Electrical/Petroleum Engineering.
• Admission through All India Seats or ACPC Seats.
• Continues up to the final semester for students passing with a minimum 6.5 CPI in Semester 1 and onwards (not applicable to NRI seats/TFW seats).

1. Special Scholarship for Defence/CAPF Persons:

• 100% tuition fee waiver for wards of Gallantry Award winners or those who made the supreme sacrifice (fatal battle casualty). Proof of award required.
• 50% tuition fee waiver for war-injured/war-disabled soldiers of defense forces and CAPF. War disability certificate required.
• 50% tuition fee waiver for wards of soldiers with an annual income less than 8.0 lakhs. Income certificate required.
