CLAT 2024

CLAT or The Common Law Admission Test is an entrance exam conducted for admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate law course programs. CLAT is administered by the Consortium of National Law Universities including deputies of various universities. Based on the score obtained in the CLAT exam, admission will be provided to the candidates in law programs. 

The exam for CLAT 2024 is happening around the 3rd of December 2023. Candidates must check the website for regular updates. The online application of CLAT 2024 is still going on. The last date of online registration is 3rd November, Interested candidates still have time to fill out the CLAT 2024 application form.

According to the new guidelines, there is a change in the number of questions. Earlier it was 150 which was reduced to 120. The exam will be held in a pen-paper mode. Topics which are included in the CLAT exam 2024 for UG are Current affairs GK, English language, Logical Reasoning, Quantities Techniquand es, and Legal Reasoning. For PG, the question will be more focussed on the understanding ability of Law and regulation. Topics which are included in the PG CLAT 2024 are Constitutional Law, Contract, Torts, International Law, IPR, Jurisprudence, Law topics and Contemporary issues. 

CLAT 2024 will be a 2-hour test with 120 MCQs. Each correct question carries 1 mark and 0.25 will be deducted for incorrect response.

CLAT 2024 Admission and Counselling Process

The admission process for CLAT 2024 will commence after the declaration of the CLAT result. As of now, there is no such information regarding the admission process. The counselling process will start soon after the results are published. CLAT 2024 counselling will begin according to the rank and availability of seats in National Law universities and affiliated colleges. In order to participate in the CLAT 2024 counselling, applicants must register themselves on the website of CLAT. 

Recruitment through CLAT Exam 2024

The PSU recruit CLAT applicants based on the scores of the exam. Interested candidates can apply to any job at PSU by using their scorecard. Top PSU corporations like BHEL, Oil India Limited and ONGC hire candidates for different positions, for instance, Legal Executive Trainee, Assistant Legal Advisor, and Trainee Legal Advisor. The average salary of the PSU post candidates may vary. Every selected candidate gets around INR 40k to 80k depending upon their job titles.


 

CLAT 2024 Registration

It is mandatory to register before appearing for the CLAT 2024 exam. The CLAT 2024 registration started on 1st July 2023 and ends on 3rd November 2023. As per the dates, the CLAT 2024 will start on 3rd December. While registering, make sure to fill up the data carefully to avoid any problems.

These are the following steps for CLAT 2024 registration. 

  • Visit the official website of CLAT

  • Click on the link and fill out the CLAT 2024 registration form. 
  • Enter your name, mobile number, and email address on the registration form and click on the submit option.
  • After the registration, an application number and password will be sent to your registered moniker number and email address. 
  • Log in to the application form by using the credentials and complete the form. 
  • Mention all the necessary details under the mandatory section and upload the essential documents in the needed format. 
  • The photograph should be in jpeg or jpg format with a maximum size of 500 kb 
  • The signature should be in JPG or jpeg format with a maximum size of. 100kb 
  • The candidate"s state domicile certificate should be in PDF format with a maximum size of 2 Mb.

CLAT 2024 Registration fees 

To submit the registration fees, the candidates need to submit the form by paying the application fee. The registration fee is non-refundable and should be paid via online method. The following table shows the registration fees for the CLAT based on the category.

The candidates should submit the CLAT application fees through online mode only. The fees will be paid via net banking, credit or debit card at the consortiumofnlu.ac.in. 

Note- Those who want to purchase the previous year"s questions of CLAT, can access them from the official website for rupees 500. This benefit is available to those students who have made the registration for CLAT.

CLAT 2024 Correction 

The correction can be made in the CLAT application form. Follow the steps to make any changes in the form

  • Go to the official website of CLAT
  • Click on the application correction link
  • Login into the form with your registered mobile number and password
  • Select the edit application link and change the necessary things 
  • Finally, save the changes by clicking on the save option

 

CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

To appear in the CLAT exam, candidates need to meet the standard norm of the exam. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria can lead to the cancellation of a candidate"s registration. Both UG and PG have different eligibility criteria. The following points of eligibility criteria are mentioned below. 

Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2024 UG 

  • No age limit to apply for the CLAT 2024 Undergraduate program. 
  • Candidates must have finished their class 12 exam from any board with 45% (General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, PCI categories) and 40% for SC and ST.
  •  Students who are appearing for the 12th exam can apply for the CLAT 2024. However, it is important to show the qualifying certificate of class 12 at the time of admission. Without a passing certificate, he or she will not proceed for further admission. 

Eligibility criteria for CLAT 2024 PG 

  • Students belonging to general, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI must have at least 50% in LLB degree. Whereas students belonging to SC/ST must have 44% in the LLB degree. 
  • No upper age limitation.
  • Final-year students of LLB can appear for the exam

What will be considered a good score for CLAT 2024?

As the competition level is high in the CLAT exam, it is always suggested to score high marks to be on the safe side. If you are scoring between 78 to 90 marks then you are at least on the safer side. With this score, you can easily secure admission into any top national law university. Applicants who score less than the above number will get admission to a lower national law university.

CLAT 2024 Result 

The  CLAT 2024 result will be published on the official website after the answer key is released. The final result will be published around January 2024 once there is an official announcement. Candidates must download the result for future consideration. In the result, details like the name of the candidate, roll number, overall rank, category and marks will be mentioned.

What are the important documents that should be carried out at the time of the CLAT 2024 exam?

Candidates must carry their CLAT admit card, any government identity proof, a passport-size photograph, and a mask or hand sanitiser in case of COVID-19. 

Are there any changes in the CLAT application fee? 

No, there are no changes in the application fees of CLAT 2024. The application fee for general, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI  candidates is INR 4000, whereas SC and ST, need to pay INR 3000.

Can I correct the CLAT 2024 Application form? 

Yes, you can make corrections on your application form before 3rd November 2023. After the last date is over, no corrections will be allowed.
