National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh, in Vijayawada is one of India leading design education institutes. It was founded in 2015 as a completely autonomous institution under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NID Vijayawada is a member of the National Design Institutes network.
NID Vijayawada wants to produce design professionals who are both aesthetically and usefully competent but also socially and culturally enlightened. The institution is known for its practice-based learning, design-led curriculum, and industry-oriented design education. It currently has full-time Bachelor of Design (B.Des) courses and will add postgraduate courses in the future.
