Raja Sir Muhammad Ali Mohammad Khan, Khan Bahadur, K.C.I.E. of Mahmudabad, originally proposed the concept of establishing a university in Lucknow. He made this suggestion in an essay that he wrote for the columns of "The Pioneer." After Sir Harcourt Butler, K.C.S.I., K.C.I.E., was appointed Lieutenant-Governor of the United Provinces a short while later, the plan gained new life and vitality due to his well-known interest in all things under his jurisdiction, particularly those pertaining to education. A General Committee of educationists and others interested in university education, established for that purpose, convened in conference at Government House, Lucknow, on November 10, 1919, marking the first step towards the establishment of the institution.

After some debate, it was decided that the University of Lucknow should be a unitary, teaching, residential university with the faculties of arts, including law, science, medicine, and oriental studies, in accordance with the Calcutta University Mission of 1919. A number of other resolutions were also approved, and six subcommittees were established—five to address issues related to the university and one to address plans for Intermediate Education provision. The reports of these subcommittees' meetings were presented before the General Committee at its second conference in Lucknow on January 26, 1920. The proceedings of the subcommittees were reviewed and discussed, and the reports of five of the subcommittees were, subject to certain restrictions, confirmed.

Lucknow University only accepts applications submitted online. The procedure to apply for admission is as follows, step by step:

Step 1: Sign up

Go to lkouniv.ac.in, the Lucknow University's official website.
Select "Admission" from the menu bar at the top.
After choosing the program, click "Apply Now."
Complete the application form with the necessary information.
The login credentials for applicants will be sent to this email address and mobile number.

Step 2: Individual Information

Candidates must enter their personal information.

Step 3: Educational Background

Candidates must enter their qualifying test information, including their roll number and marks.

Step 4: Sign and upload a photo

Candidates must upload their scanned signature and photo in the required format.

Step 5: Take a Look

At this point, applicants are able to view every entry they have submitted. They can make changes or restart the entire process if there is a mistake. The information entered on the registration page cannot be changed once the application fee has been paid.

Step 6: Payment for Application

The applicant can submit the application and proceed with paying the application fees if all of the information on it is accurate.

Lucknow University- Scholarship

1. Scholarships from the State Government:

Students from economically disadvantaged groups (EWS), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) are eligible.
Criteria: Predicted on academic achievement and family income, which is normally less than INR 2-3 lakhs annually.
Application: Via the scholarship website run by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

2. Merit-Based Scholarships:
