With a sense of nationalism and a desire to serve, teach, and innovate, the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research—formerly known as V.S.S. Medical College and Hospital—began its ascent to renown by being located next to the Hirakud Dam. The current prominence is the result of the combined efforts of innumerable men and women who gave it their all in both favorable and unfavorable circumstances.
There are a lot of unfulfilled expectations for this small medical college. Meeting the health needs of Western Odisha, a portion of Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand completely requires quick growth and cutting-edge facilities in the near future in order to maintain its long history and face these problems, given the area's fast industrialisation and urbanization. We work very hard to provide society with a well-balanced mix of preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative services. The unwavering enthusiasm, dedication, and professional skill combined with empathy exhibited by the medical and paramedical staff have made sure that, upon graduation, our future physicians understand that "We Touch, God Heals" and that their duty is to treat people with kindness and compassion.
Goals
to create a curriculum for medical education at the undergraduate and graduate levels across all specializations in order to prepare Odisha and all of India's human resources for health.
providing medical care to the rural and urban populations of western Odisha, a portion of Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
To collaborate with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and state health agencies to conduct national health programs by providing training, oversight, supervision, and experience in related disciplines.
