What is MGU CAT ?
The Mahatma Gandhi University General Admission Examination or MGU CAT is carried out by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam for admissions to various university postgraduate programmes such as MBA/PGDM, MSC, MA, Masters Tourism and Travel Management, LLM, MEd & Education Courses. Candidates can also apply with a CMAT / CAT / KMAT score for admissions to MBA programmes offered by MGU.

MGU CAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- MSc (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biophysics)
BSc degree in the final year of at least 50 per cent aggregate.
- MSc in Chemistry
BSc in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as subsidiaries in the final year with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent.
- MSc in Informatics
BSc in CS / CA / BSc IT / BCA in the final year with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
- MSc in Psychology
BSc in Physics with Mathematics as one of the subsidiaries in the final year of at least 50 per cent aggregate.
- MSc in Research and Emergency Management for the Environment
BSc degree in any stream with at least 50 per cent.
- MA (Politics & International Relations / Public Policy & Governance / Politics & Human Rights)
BA in related subjects with a total of 50 per cent in the final year or BSc in either branch with a total of at least 60 per cent in the final year.

MGU CAT Admission Procedure
Eligible candidates cm apply for MGU CAT 2024. The admission process is explain in step by step manner.
- Step 1: MGU CAT 2020 Process for Applications
In order to be considered for the MGU CAT 2024 programme, candidates are expected to complete the application form and apply it before the deadline. Fees can be charged at the nearest Akshaya Centre or by debit card or Internet banking.
- Step 2: MGU CAT 2024 Admit Card
Admission cards will be allocated only to registered candidates. A hall ticket will be available online and can be downloaded by applicants from the official Mahatma Gandhi University website.
- Step 3: MGU CAT 2024, Exam
The exam mode is computer-based and 90 minutes will be the length of MGU CAT 2024. The candidates have multiple-choice questions to answer. For each subject, the marking scheme is different. The review will take place at the Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode, Delhi , Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai test centres.
- Step 4: MGU CAT 2024,Results
The results of MGU CAT 2024 will be announced on the university’s official website a few days after the test. Candidates can verify their performance by logging on to the official website and using their login ID to download the scorecard. After the declaration of the MGU CAT results, the rank list will be issued.
- Step 5: MGU CAT 2024, Counselling
The counselling process for selecting applicants for admission is carried out after the declaration of results. The counselling process involves Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for the MBA course, while the process includes Descriptive Examination and PI for the rest of the courses.
MGU CAT 2024 Exam Pattern
Mahatma Gandhi University has proposed the MGU CAT 2020 test pattern for MA, MSc, M.Ed, LLM and Master of Tourism & Travel Management applicants. Admission is dependent on the overall success of the applicant in the popular admission examination, descriptive test and interview.
MBA admission is based on CAT / CMAT / KMAT exams, so MGU CAT aspirants for this course do not have to appear.
In this online mode exam there will be 80 questions in total. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the exam. For each right answer 1 mark will be awarded. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
