TIFR GS Exam Date | Application Fee | Eligibility | Exam Pattern

 

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) conducts a national level entrance exam for the admission of candidates to PG courses such as 5 years integrated MSc courses and Ph.D. 

TIFR GS exam is conducted every year in offline mode for Higher Education in Science stream, the courses are offered at various TIFR campuses such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

The exam is held in more than 57 exam centres in India, the exam has two shifts morning and evening. Every year more than 80 thousand applicants register themselves for the exam.

  Important dates
 

  • The application of TIFR GS was released on 3rd October 2023.
  • The last date to fill out the application is 2nd November 2023.
  • The Admit card has been released on 20th November 2023.
  • The exam will be conducted on the 10th of December 2023.
  • Tentatively the result will be out in 3rd week of  January 2024. 

  How to apply
 

  • To apply for the examination candidates need to visit the official website at tifr.res.in
  • After visiting the website candidates need to log in using their password and credentials.
  • After successful login candidates need to upload all the documents such as certificates, ID Proof, and so on.
  • Now candidates need to pay the application fees.
  • After successful completion of the application form candidates can download the application form and take a print of it.

  Application Fee
 

The application fee for male candidates is Rs.1,200 and Rs.900 for female candidates.

   

   Eligibility 
 

  • The eligibility completely depended upon the courses and programs.
  • Candidates who are desired to appear in the exam. Must clear Bachelor"s degree and Master"s degree, MSc, BSc
  • Candidates must be a citizen of India, Nepal and Bhutan.
  • There is no age limit for the candidates.


  TIFR GS Exam pattern

The Difficulty level of the exam is easy to moderate. It will be a computer-based exam of 3 hours. The exam will be of 100 marks, the exam paper contains Objective and Subjective type questions. The exam is separated into two parts Part A and Part B
 

> For attempting every correct answer candidates will get 1 mark for each answer.

> For attempting every wrong answer there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.

> For unattempted questions, no marks will be deducted.
