Swami Vivekananda Scholarship an initiative of the government of West Bengal 2023-2024 (SVMCM)

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is a state scholarship program(SVMCM), an initiative of the government of West Bengal. Under this scholarship scheme, the government of West Bengal provides financial aid to students who cannot complete their education due to economic problems.

This scholarship program also encourages students to pursue higher education. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is also known as Bikash Bhavan Scholarship.

Students enrolled in classes 9 to 12 and undergraduate and Postgraduate students are eligible for the Scholarship.

The last date of registration for the Scholarship is 31st December 2023. Students interested in applying for the Scholarship must visit the official website svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.

The scheme was started by the CM of West Bengal in 2016. Under this scheme, students are eligible for Rs. 12,000 to 60,000 annually.

 Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Eligibility

• Applicants must be a citizen of West Bengal.
• Candidates who have cleared higher secondary, graduated with a minimum of 70%, and postgraduate with 55% are eligible for the scholarship amount.
• The candidate"s family income should be below Rs. 2,50,000.
• The institute where the applicant will be admitted or pursue education must be in West Bengal.
• The family income certificate is mandatory.
   

How to apply

• Applicants need to visit the official website of the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship portal.
• Candidates who are willing must register with the registered Mobile number and email ID.
• After that, the candidate is given a 15-digit unique application ID.
• After that, candidates must log in with a password and ID to upload all the required documents.
• The scholarship amount will be credited to the recipient"s account of shortlisted applicants.

Scholarship Amount

• Candidates who are pursuing HS and D.IE.ED are eligible for an amount of Rs.12,000.
• Candidates who are doing undergraduate studies and pursuing Arts and Commerce are eligible for an amount of Rs.12,000.
• Candidates who are under graduation and pursuing science are eligible for Rs.18,000.
• Candidates who are doing post-graduation and pursuing Arts and Commerce are eligible for an amount of Rs.24,000.
• Candidates who are doing post-graduation and pursuing Science are eligible for an amount of Rs.30,000.
• Candidates who are pursuing an M.Phil and Ph.D. are eligible for an amount of Rs.60,000.
• Polytechnic students are also eligible for a scholarship amounting to Rs. 18,000.
• Applicants who are doing undergraduate studies in the medical field are eligible for an amount of Rs.18,000 to 60,000.
• Applicants who are pursuing Engineering and other professional courses are also eligible for an amount of Rs.60,000.
• Girl candidates with an aggregate of 45% in their Graduation and Postgraduation are eligible for scholarships under the Kanayashree (K3) scheme.
