The Common Admission Test (CAT) entrance exam is one of the top MBA Exams to gain admission to top IIMs. IIM Calcutta may conduct the CAT 2024.

The registration of CAT 2024 is most likely to commence from 1st week of August 2024.

The official notification for the exam will be released in July 2024 from the official Website www.iimcat.ac.in. The Common Admission Test is conducted once every year for the admission of applicants to MBA courses. Over 1000 B-schools accept CAT. CAT Exam is an entirely online-based exam conducted at more than 300 exam centers all over India.

• Applicants who are interested in applying for the MBA programs need to appear for the CAT exams, which are 120 minutes long and online based.
• CAT will be a computer-based exam and will be conducted in three seasons.
• The Admit card of the candidates for CAT will be released tentatively in the 2nd or 3rd week of October 2024.
• Common Admission Test (CAT) may direct the exam starting the 24th of November 2024.
• The result will be on the official CAT website in the last week of December 2024 or the first week of January 2024.
• The final result of NIFT will be based on the weightage of the exams that the candidate scores.

 CAT Exam Application Process

1. The application process for CAT is online based.
2. Applicants can apply through the official admission portal of CAT.
3. After applying, applicants need to register themselves with accurate details.
4. After successful registration, the candidate"s login account will be created.
5. Now, candidates need to log in and upload all the documents.
6. After successfully uploading all the documents, candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 2,400.
7. The application fee for the general category is 2,400, but a relaxation of 1,200 is permitted for SC, ST, and  PwD Candidates.

CAT Exam Eligibility 

Applicants must clear his/her graduation with an aggregate of 50% marks from a recognized institute and 45% marks are permitted for SC, ST, PwD, and DA categories. Candidates in the final year of graduation can also take the CAT exam. There is no age limit for the candidates.

CAT Exam pattern

The Difficulty level of the exam is moderate to high. The question paper contains MCQs and non-MCQs type questions. It has three sections, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), which includes 24 questions. Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (LRDI) contains 20 questions, and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) has 22 questions and comprises 66 questions with negative markings for each wrong answer.
