MAEER’s MIT started its autonomous management program under the umbrella of MAEER’s group. The degree offered then was Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).” The program was continued almost like the “University of Pune” till 2001. Later with the vision of “Vice-President & Executive Director” Shri Rahul V. Karad alumni of “Harvard Business School”, a requirement for creating a management school with the international standard was felt & in 2000 the MAEER’s group started focusing the management education on the subsequent key points:

  • Industry oriented education.
  • Faculty grooming.
  • Student’s employability.
  • Syllabus review.

To seek out an ideal solution to the continued management education Prof. V G. Narayanan (Faculty & Unit Head), Harvard graduate school, joined the tutorial board of MIT School of Business. Then in 2006 MIT School of business was been shifted to the newly constructed state of the art infrastructure building. The syllabus of the PGDM course which is obtainable by MIT SOB is been reviewed per annum by the tutorial council.

The AICTE approval within the year 2009 was been received for an intake of 60 (Marketing), 60 (Finance), 60 (Human Resources), and 60 (General Management) students. Since then institution has gained high popularity for its value-based education and better rankings in reputed business magazines.

The current intake for the management course is 120 (Marketing), 120 (Finance), 60 (Human Resources), and 60 (General Management) students.

This program was revamped to HBS (Harvard Business School) pattern with the assistance of prof. V.G Narayan of Harvard University . The method shifted to creating a separate institution for management, MIT School of Business (MITSOB). The pedagogy was enhanced to a case study based learning where the scholars are given real-world case studies for discussion within the classroom. This method of learning was very different from the MBA in many terms like

  • Strict attendance norms
  • The flexibility of choosing subjects in the second year from among 60+ subjects
  • Using computer-based tools for subjects like statistics, operations, finance, marketing, etc.

Eligibility Criteria of MIT-School of Business

The MIT SOB offers a two-year PGDM (Postgraduate Diploma in Management) program in four specializations viz, General Management, Human Resource, Finance, and Marketing to the candidates. The entire student’s intake is 360 (inclusive of all four specializations). The essential qualification to use is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University /Institute with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The choice of candidates is predicated on the valid score obtained in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA/ CMAT entrance examination. The ultimate selection of scholars is going to be supported by the performance in Essay Writing, Extempore, and private Interview round.

Applicants are going to be assessed on the share scale of 100%
