About Jamia Millia Islamia –
Jamia Millia Islamia, usually referred to as JMI, is a major university that is situated in Delhi. It was founded in 1920 and is approved by the UGC. It is accredited by the NAAC with a “A” Grade and a member of the AIU. The NIRF 2022 Rankings place Jamia Millia Islamia at positions 3 and 7 in the “University” and “Law” categories, respectively. By the NIRF 2022, the university was ranked 9 in the category of “Architecture” and 16 in the category of “Dental.” The university offers more than 220 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes across nine faculties. Jamia has a variety of learning and research institutions in addition to its nine faculties, such as the AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), the Academy of International Studies, etc.
JMI and the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Army, and Indian Coast Guard have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) allowing defense personnel to enroll in CDOL’s distance learning programmes for degrees and diplomas in a single session. Aside from this, the institution collaborates with over 100 organisations annually to start student and staff exchange programmes. In addition, Jamia Millia Islamia is renowned for the international exchange programmes it offers in association with other colleges abroad. In order to stop COVID-19, JMI researchers recently developed a solar-powered disinfection tunnel.
Admission –
Admission 2023 is anticipated to start shortly after, followed by entrance tests for the majority of programmes in June. Over 220 courses are available at Jamia Millia Islamia in both self-financed and traditional formats. The University also provides distance learning courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and diploma levels. JMI and the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Army, and Indian Coast Guard have signed an agreement that allows the military personnel to complete CDOL’s distance learning degrees and certifications in a single sitting.
JMI course admission is made available through a variety of entrance exams, including the CUET and JMI entrance exam, among others, for the majority of UG and PG programmes. Candidates who meet the requirements can register online by going to the university’s main website.
Placement –
Over a hundred businesses came to the Jamia Millia Islamia campus for placements in 2022. Additionally, the standard compensation during JMI BTech CSE placements in 2022 was INR 10 LPA. Jamia Millia Islamia placements 2022 had a maximum package of INR 25 LPA. Additionally, the average MBA package offered by Jamia Millia Islamia in 2022 was INR 8.8 LPA.

During the JMI MCA placements in 2022, the top and average packages were INR 15.39 LPA and INR 7.23 LPA, respectively. Leading corporations including Amazon, Samsung, and L&T were among the top recruiters for JMI positions in 2022.
Campus –
The facility is spread out over a considerable region in Delhi’s Okhla neighbourhood. Its buildings are being renovated in large numbers. Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex, a beautiful cricket field at the institution, has played host to numerous significant Tournaments and Indian women’s cricket matches. In 2013, the University Cricket Championship was also played on this field. The Anwar Jamal Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts, Centre for Theoretical Physics, and Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Academy of Third World Studies are a few of the Jamia’s centres of learning and research in addition to its seven faculties (ATWS).
The Jamia offers information and technology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Jamia Millia Islamia joined the environmental movement and put in 2,250 kilowatts of solar power on the school’s campus.
Library –
Dr. Zakir Husain Library is the name of the university’s major central library, which houses a collection of around 400,000 items, including books, microfilms, magazine volumes, manuscripts, and rare books. They have specific rooms set aside for them. All legitimate Jamia Millia Islamia students have access to the library. In addition to this, several faculties and centres’ libraries have subject collections.
Ranking –
According to statistics made public by the Indian Ministry of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia was ranked 1st among all central universities in the nation in 2020. The university was given a “A++” rating by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in December 2021.
In the 2023 QS World University Rankings, Jamia Millia Islamia was ranked 801–1000 globally and 188 in Asia. According to the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it was rated 501–600 overall, 160 in Asia, and 172 among emerging economies.
According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), it was ranked 13th overall in India in 2022, 3rd among universities, 12th in law, 9th in architecture, 16th in dentistry, 26th in engineering, 19th in research institutes, and 29th in management.
Alumni –
Jamia Millia Islamia has produced famous alumni since its founding. Shah Rukh Khan, Mouni Roy, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Barkha Dutt, and Anjana Om Kashyap are notable alumni from the film industry. Ampareen Lyngdoh and Kunwar Danish Ali are notable alumni from politics. Virendar Sehwag is a notable alumni from cricket. Notable scholars like Moulana Imran Raza Ansari and Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi were also created by it.
