AGC NEST 2024 is an entrance cum scholarship test offering admission to Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Law courses.
What is AGC NEST 2024?
AGC NEST 2024 or Amritsar Group of Colleges National Entrance Scholarship Test 2024 is a national-level entrance cum scholarship examination. It offers admission to the Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Law programs Amritsar Group of Colleges.
AGC has three colleges which are,
- Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology [ACET].
- Amritsar Pharmacy College [APC].
- Amritsar Law College [ALC].
To apply to the examination, candidates have to visit the official website and fill out a simple application form. There will be a fee to be paid.

AGC NEST 2024 Registration Process
AGC NEST 2024 registration and application form-filling process is explained in detail below.
There are 3 steps; Registration, form filling, and fee payment
- Registration: Visit the official website agcnest.com. You can find an application form for the scholarship test. Enter the all required details (name, father’s name, contact number, email ID, etc.).
- Application form filling: During this process make sure you enter all the details as given in the mark list/certificate/ID proof. After the successful registration, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the registered mobile number for verification.
- Application fee payment: Only online payment methods are available for fee payment. Firstly OTP will be sent to the candidate after verifying it click the next button which will lead to the payment window.
Available payment methods are Debit cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit cards, Internet banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile wallets/UPI.

After the successful payment select the date and time for the examination.
Candidates should note down the provisional registration number and password which is displayed on the screen. This will also be sent as E-mail and SMS. Application fee payment makes a candidate eligible to get the prospectus when the candidate visits the campus.

AGC NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria
AGC NEST offers different programs so the eligibility varies by various programs.
- Admission to courses like Engineering (B.Tech/MTech), B.Pharm, Management (B.Com/BBA/MBA), and Law and Computer Application (BCA/MCA) is by appearing in the entrance examination.
- Admission to MHMCT/M. Tech (CSE/ECE/CE/ME) is based on the graduation degree. They don’t have an entrance exam but have to register online.
- Admission to B.Voc courses (Hospitality & Catering Technology/Automobile Servicing/Software Development) and D.Pharm is based on the marks obtained in the higher secondary exam (12th class). There is no entrance exam for these courses but the candidates have to register online.
- Admission to B.Tech lateral entry and B.Pharm lateral entry is based on the marks obtained in the Diploma course and there will be an entrance exam for them.
Note: Candidates applying for the courses can also avail of a 20% scholarship based on the ‘Early Bird Registration” scheme till May 30, 2024, or they can avail of the scholarship based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

AGC NEST 2024 Examination Pattern and Marking Scheme
The AGC has released the pattern for the AGC NEST 2024. Candidates, please go through the exam pattern as well as the syllabus. The examination will be conducted in online mode and candidates can appear for it anywhere as per the date-time chosen by the candidate.
A total of 45 Multiple-choice objective Questions (MCQs) will be there in the exam. There will be one minute to answer each question i.e., a total of 45 minutes. A wrong answer will get -0.25 marks and there is no mark deduction for unattempted questions. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark resulting in a total of 45 marks.
