Indian Institute of Technology, Raipur (IIT Raipur) was founded in the year 2020. It is one of the youngest IITs established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education to enhance technical education and research in Central India. In spite of being newly established, IIT Raipur has a vision to become a centre of excellence in engineering, science, management, and inter-disciplinary research. It has been notified an Institute of National Importance and is being established as a world-class campus spread over about 500 acres in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The institute focuses on innovation-led learning, entrepreneurship, and sustainability with thrust areas in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Renewable Energy, and Advanced Materials.
